Gregory L.

Fenves
An internationally recognized structural engineer, Fenves' research
focus is on computational simulation of structures subjected to
earthquakes and technology for performance-based earthquake
engineering. He led the development of one of the most widely
used open source software platforms in the civil engineering
profession. He was one of the early civil engineering researchers to
develop wireless sensor networks for assessing the structural health of buildings,
bridges and infrastructure.
William J. Hall
Professor Hall was engaged in instruction and research, with a
specialty in structural engineering and structural dynamics. His
research emphasis was on steel structures, materials, blast,
shock and earthquake engineering.
George W. Housner
The George W. Housner Medal of the Earthquake Engineering
Research Institute is awarded to recognize members of the
Institute and others who have made extraordinary and lasting
contributions to public earthquake safety through the
development and application of earthquake hazard reduction
practices and policies. This award is not established to
recognize major engineering or scientific research contributions
or advancements, but it may very well be given to individuals
who have made such contributions.

Joseph Penzien
With Dixon Rea he was responsible for designing and operating the
first modern servo-controlled shaking table of significant size. His
scholarly contributions and engineering analysis and design
expertise received international acclaim. Among the many
accomplishments we note the following: Development of perhaps the
earliest course in random vibrations, and its relevance to earthquake
engineering.

medicin.
