GENERAL
Aberturret House lies close to Crieff, above the Turret Burn and
Shaggie Burn and close to the historic Glenturret Distillery, in
the highly sought after county of Perthshire. Crieff provides an
excellent array of facilities including independent shops, well
stocked supermarket, health centre, cottage hospital, library,
banks, two primary schools and a secondary school. In addition,
there are the independent schools of Morrisons Academy and
Ardvreck Preparatory School whilst slightly further a field are
Glenalmond, Strathallan, Craigclowan and Kilgraston.
Perth, recently granted City status as party of the Queens
Diamond Jubilee celebrations, lies approximately 18 miles to the
east and provides a wide range of services including national
retailers, banks, restaurants, modern concert hall, theatre,
cinema and both a railway and bus station. Dundee can be
reached in approximately an hours journey by car and offers
two universities, Olympia swimming pool, railway station and
airport, with regular links to London City. The cities of Edinburgh
and Glasgow, with their international airports, lie approximately
60 miles and 49 miles respectively and both provide extensive
city amenities.
Perthshire is a county offering a wealth of recreational
activities. For the golfer there are a number of courses close to
Aberturret House including the championship course in Crieff
itself, Gleneagles Hotel lies approximately 10 miles distant with
three championship courses and is to be the venue of the 2014
Ryder Cup with an 18 hole course in Auchterarder. In addition
Gleneagles Hotel offers extensive recreational activities,
including the country club, restaurants, spa, shooting school and
equestrian centre. The surrounding hills and glens offer many
interesting walks whilst Drummond Castle Gardens between
Crieff and Muthill are open through the spring and summer

DIRECTIONS
To reach Aberturret House from Crieff take the A85 road signposted
for Comrie. After a short distance on leaving Crieff, turn right onto
the minor road signposted for the Famous Grouse Experience.
Continue on this road for approximately one mile and the entrance
to Aberturret House is to be found on the right hand side.
