UG PROJECT EXAMINATION GUIDELINES


EXAM DURING MAY-2015
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The PROJECT EXAM total timing will be 30 Minutes for Presentation & 30 Minutes for
Demonstration of working of Project including Viva. Presentation MUST be PPT-based only.
Presentation will be in a group by each student. It is necessary to show Hardware/Software in
working condition during exam time in concern laboratory. Students are informed to keep their
Hardware/Software ready in working condition in the laboratory before presentation.
2. Each group has to prepare approximately 35 to 60 pages (double sided) excluding appendices.
The new chapter must begin from right page only. Title, Certificate, Index, List of Figures,
List of Tables etc. pages must be single sided.
3. Students must submit Project Report (signed by Guide) to all examiners at least 5 days before the
project examination. (These copies are not necessarily hard bound)
4. Final Hard Bound copies of the Report (with all due corrections) and CD-R (attached on last cover
page of report) must be submitted not later than one day after Project Examination. CD-R must
contain .docx & .pdf file of report and .ppt file of Project Presentation. Failure to submit will be
given II grade.

5. REPORT PREPARATION STEPS :
Paper must be White Royal Executive Bond, 85 gsm Paper of A4 size only.
Printing: Printed report should be vivid and clear.
Line Spacing: 1.5
Margins: 1.25 inch Left Margin & 1.0 inch all Side Margin (Top + Bottom + Right)
Font: Times New Roman only.
Font size:
Text should start from next line after the Title.
MAIN TITLE = 18 BOLD CAPITAL UNDERLINE (Alignment : Left) (Colour Text) (Title Case)
SUB TITLE = 14 BOLD CAPITAL UNDERLINE (Alignment : Left) (Colour Text) (Title Case)
MATTER
= 12 Normal (Alignment : Justify ) (Black Text)
> Figures must be at the centre of whole margin. All details in the Figures must be clearly visible/
readable.
> Write figure caption in font size 10 at the bottom of figure, e.g., Fig. 5(a): title of figure.
> Give figure no. as Fig.2.1 (first figure of chapter 2). In text, cite the figure as Fig.2.1.
> Write table number at the top of table, i.e., Table 1.1: followed by title of table in font size 10.
> All paragraphs must start without tab.
> Two line spacing between paragraphs.
> Start new Chapter from new page. Leave 5 lines between Chapter heading and start of text.
> No blank area at the end of each page except last page of chapter.
> All equations in the middle with equation no. at the end of line within small brackets, e.g.(2.1).
> Equations must be typed using appropriate Equation Editor only.
> No dots between equation and equation no. and no space before and after = sign.

Chapter heading must be identical for each new chapter as shown below.

CHAPTER-1

INTRODUCTION

> All Main Title, Sub Title, Sub-sub Title must be in Title Case.
> In content page, in list of figure, etc; all topics must be written in Title Case.
> e.g. and i.e. must have commas as e.g., and i.e., and one space after each commas.
After equation, if where is used it should be where,.

Preferably at least one or two references have to be recent published paper from some
reputed national / international journals preferably by IEEE.
All the reference citations in text of report must appear in numerically increasing order
when they have been referred in report.
Write complete URL for website referencing.
Figure copied from some paper or website has to be captioned with
Courtesy of ____________ or [#Ref. no.]
6. Students are expected to remain present during project exam in Formal Dress.
7. Students are instructed that there will be no change in time or date of presentation.
8. Project Report must be duly signed by the concern Guide & Co-guide before Presentation.
9. For presentation students will get LCD Project facility.
