This Post
The school opened its doors to a new 6th form in September 2014 and is seeking
to broaden the curriculum to include Business subjects at both Key stage 4 and
5. The successful candidate would have a key role to play in making decisions
about the Syllabuses that would be offered and developing and promoting the
subject within the school. Prospective candidates might wish to address their
vision for promoting and developing the subject as well as perhaps indicating
their choice of syllabus in their application. Economics A-Level (Edexcel) was
introduced in September 2014 and is currently taught by the Head of Maths, but
we would now like to ensure that the teaching load for Economics is shared by a
second teacher who would take responsibility for leading curriculum
development in the subject.
It is very likely that if established successfully, these new subjects will require at
least one full time teacher equivalence by 2016-17. Those seeking a full time
post at this time are therefore encouraged to apply especially if you are
able/willing to teach a second subject and/or are interested in the possibility of
working as Deputy Head of 6th form which will carry a TLR2.1. The details of this
additional role have been posted separately on our vacancies page on the web
site and candidates interested in applying for this enhanced role should address
this in their application.
