Hello!
It
is
with
great
pleasure
that
I
present
to
you
the
2015-2016
Executive
Board
application.
The
Executive
Board
is
the
leading
body
of
NYUMUN
that
is
responsible
for
overseeing
and
coordinating
activities
of
all
facets
of
our
organization.
Following
the
E-Board
elections
that
took
place
on
Thursday,
April
30th,
the
newly
elected
leadership
team
has
adopted
a
comprehensive
approach
consisting
of
new
initiatives
to
ensure
the
clubs
progress
as
a
collective
synergy
of
its
active
branches
in
the
upcoming
year.
This
document
contains
applications
for
the
positions
of
Head
Delegate,
Chief
of
Staff,
and
Social
Coordinator
that
are
appointed
by
the
President.
As
such,
the
President
reserves
the
right
to
appoint
multiple
individuals
to
the
positions
of
Head
Delegate
and
Social
Coordinator
if
deemed
necessary.
Furthermore,
non-seniors
will
be
given
priority
for
the
positions
of
Head
Delegate
and
Chief
of
Staff.
Please
note
that
being
a
member
of
the
E-Board
is
a
substantial
time
commitment,
especially
in
light
of
the
extensive
scope
of
changes
that
we
are
seeking
to
implement
next
year.
Any
great
leader
is
an
even
greater
servant,
and
true
service
requires
sacrifice.
You
will
be
expected
to
work
harder
than
anyone
else
in
the
club,
and
to
put
in
more
time
than
anyone
else.
Thank
you,
and
I
look
forward
to
your
applications!
Sincerely,
Azizjon
Azimi
President,
2015-2016
NYUMUN
Description
of
duties:
The
Head
Delegate(s)
are
responsible
for
the
leadership,
management,
training
and
performance
of
the
competitive
Travel
Team.
The
Head
Delegate(s)
shall,
with
the
President
and
the
advice
of
the
Executive
Board,
decide
on
the
travel
schedule
for
the
academic
year.
The
Head
Delegate(s)
shall
register
for
Model
UN
conferences,
obtain
documents
and
maintain
correspondence
with
conferences
to
facilitate
travel,
coordinate
travel
and
hotel
arrangements
with
the
Treasurer
and
the
Chief
of
Staff,
and
foster
positive
relations
with
other
universities
on
the
Model
UN
circuit.
The
Head
Delegate(s)
shall
select
and
train
members
of
the
Travel
Team,
and
lead
the
Organizations
delegation
at
conferences
so
as
to
maintain
a
strong
national
ranking
(seen
on
Best
Delegate)
and
present
NYU
in
a
positive
light.
Members
of
the
Travel
Team
are
to
be
selected
objectively,
on
the
basis
of
past
performance
at
competitive
conferences,
performance
at
Intramural
Sessions,
written
applications
and/or
other
factors
deemed
relevant
by
the
Head
Delegate(s).
Application
Process:
Due
to
the
personal
emphasis
on
transparency
and
accountability
that
I
put
while
serving
as
Spring
Head
Delegate
of
the
travel
team,
I
have
decided
to
make
the
process
of
Head
Delegate(s)
selection
public
and
transparent.
The
process
will
involve
the
following
stages:
Stage
I:
Application
-
all
candidates
for
the
position
will
need
to
submit
an
extensive
written
application
addressing
the
questions
found
below.
Stage
II:
Travel
Team
Feedback
Survey
-
every
member
of
the
travel
team
who
participated
in
at
least
one
conference
in
2014-2015
will
have
the
right
to
nominate
people
to
run
for
Head
Delegate
and
provide
feedback
for
the
nominees
through
an
anonymous
form
prepared
beforehand.
This
will
take
place
at
a
special
session
convened
at
the
regular
time
of
weekly
practice
(Monday,
May
4th
at
7:00
pm)
where
travel
team
members
will
have
access
to
the
aforementioned
survey
form
on
their
laptops.
This
is
done
in
order
to
prevent
potential
cases
of
strategic
influencing.
The
list
of
candidates
who
had
submitted
their
applications
will
be
released
only
upon
their
consent.
Otherwise,
the
travel
team
survey
results
will
be
considered
in
specific
cases
of
convergence
between
the
nominees
put
forward
by
members
and
candidates
who
had
submitted
their
application
-
nominees
who
had
not
declared
their
candidacy
will
not
be
considered
for
the
position
of
Head
Delegate.
Most
importantly,
members
will
be
asked
to
list
any
negative
feedback
associated
with
the
nominees.
Stage
III:
Interview
-
the
final
stage
will
involve
an
interview
of
candidates
with
the
President.
The
interview
will
heavily
focus
on
the
results
of
the
travel
team
survey
and
revolve
around
the
feedback
received
on
each
specific
candidate.
The
final
decision
will
be
announced
by
the
week
of
May
15th.
Instructions:
2
You
are
asked
to
create
a
new,
pleasantly-formatted
PDF
document
containing
your
name,
major(s),
school,
class
year,
date
of
birth,
phone
number,
and
email.
Afterwards,
please
address
the
following
questions
in
the
document:
What
do
you
view
as
priorities
in
the
role
of
Head
Delegate?
What
changes
do
you
seek
to
bring
into
the
team?
Be
as
specific
as
you
can.
How
would
you
go
about
balancing
competitiveness
with
fostering
a
spirit
of
team
culture?
What
does
servant
leadership
mean
to
you?
Feel
free
to
refer
to
specific
instances
from
your
participation
in
the
travel
team
over
the
past
year.
How
would
you
structure
the
team
practices?
How
would
you
formulate
the
process
of
team
selection
for
conferences
(i.e.
intramural
before
every
conference,
application-based
selection,
record
of
previous
awards,
etc.)?
Which
conferences
do
you
envision
the
team
attending
in
2015-2016
and
what
type
of
delegation
sizes
do
you
prefer
strategically
at
each
(large
vs.
small)?
Feel
free
to
make
use
of
PowerPoint
for
this
question
specifically.
Assume
the
following
situation:
It
is
October
2015
and
delegate
John
is
a
new
freshman
member
of
NYUs
travel
team,
having
been
recruited
into
the
team
in
September
through
an
intramural.
He
has
done
MUN
for
over
five
years
and
as
Head
Delegate,
you
believe
he
has
immense
potential.
At
his
first
collegiate
conference,
he
has
asked
you
to
put
him
in
the
China
committee
due
to
his
extensive
personal
interest
and
academic
specialization
in
the
country.
At
the
same
time,
there
is
delegate
Manley
who
is
a
team
veteran
with
an
above-average
awards
record,
speaks
Mandarin,
and
has
picked
the
China
committee
for
the
conference.
Whom
would
you
ultimately
pick
to
be
in
the
China
committee
if
both
refused
their
second
choice
committees
and
why?
Please
attach
your
professional
resume
at
the
end
of
the
application
it
will
be
helpful
in
addressing
any
aspects
not
covered
by
the
questions.
The
length
and
breadth
of
responses
is
left
up
to
your
consideration,
but
please
keep
in
mind
that
quality
is
valued
substantially
more
than
quantity.
Emphasis
is
on
concrete
examples
from
your
participation
in
the
travel
team
and
on
the
MUN
circuit.

your
application
is
complete,
