Mentored and promoted 10 employees to management positions. Developed mentoring program working with
employees to promote the growth of the company through staffing the stores.
Increased sales with a 3%-5% margin within last 3 stores. Overall sales of $869K in first half of 2009 were
second in district. Generated an increase in sales through inventory backroom controls and increasing product on
the store shelves with creative merchandising.

Reduced inventory 10% within the last year. Reduced stockroom inventory and kept accurate records of sales to
keep inventory down without sacrificing sales.

CAREER HISTORY
Retail Store Manager, Longs Drug Store/CVS, 1999 – 2009. Managed up to 50 employees. Opened and closed
the store including balancing registers and the safe. Balanced the daily books and paid all incoming invoices.
Hired, coached and staffed employees maintaining accurate employee files. Kept payroll in line with sales in
difficult economy generating a profit of $869K in first half of 2009 generating a 3% increase over the previous year.
Scheduled maintenance for store appearance and safety. Developed an employee newsletter to keep employees
informed of essential changes and news including safety, loss prevention, customer service and recognition of
employees excelling at their job. Performed audits on other stores within the district. Mentored new store managers
within the district. Participated in community functions as a representative of the company.

Assistant Store Manager, Longs Drug Store, 1980 -1999. Ran quarterly inventory. Worked in receiving, including
organization of the warehouse. Placed orders for basic goods, ads and seasonal merchandise. Led by example in
daily duties, enjoyed working with and watching employee growth. Became a proficient merchandiser, creative,
fast, neat and was able build a display capable of increase sales. Excellent customer interactions which resulted
in a repeat business thus increasing sales. Maintained accurate pricing and signage within the store.
