Wherifys New GPS Offender Locator Tracks Wherever They Go!

The Wherify Offender Locator Features:

A new cost-effective public safety tool for managing

participants under supervised community corrections
is here -- The Wherify Offender Locator. Using the
same tested and proven technology as Wherifys GPS
Locator for Kids, the Offender Locator is a public
safety solution that corrections, law enforcement, the
judicial system and communities can rely on. Now a
parole/probation officer can simply use the Internet or
any phone to quickly identify and continuously monitor
the location of the offender within feet, in about a
minute. The Wherify Offender Locator is also the only
body-worn electronic monitoring system that
converges three major tracking technologies (RF,
passive GPS and active GPS) into a single device
being developed for the corrections market.

Can continuously monitor the offenders location.

A basic schedule of location requests every 2 - 5
minutes maximizes battery life, enabling a
minimum of 30 locates an hour for entire 12-hour
period. Locates are reported in batches each time
the locator requires a new location information.

Will continue to locate when no network coverage

is available by storing each event and collecting
on its schedule until it can report back. The unit
has the capacity to hold up to 500 location events.

With an interchangeable battery, the offender can

swap a depleted unit with a fully charged battery,
thereby eliminating the need to connect the
Offender Locator to the wall while the wearer
recharges the battery.

An internal backup battery in the Offender Locator

will alert the call center if the battery is removed
and not replaced within two minutes. This internal
battery has the capacity to perform 100 locates, or
six hours of power, which ever comes first. Even
when powered with the internal battery, the
locator-monitoring center can continue to perform
additional locates 24/7.

A tamper resistance mechanism built into the

Offender Locator makes it exceptionally difficult for
anyone to perform an unauthorized removal of the
unit without the monitoring center and
parole/probation officer knowing about it.

With the Offender Monitors RF integration, a

virtual tether suspends location activity while the
unit resides within a per-determined Geo-fence.

As a back up, the Offender Monitor has a tether

that suspends the location cycle while the unit is
within the field of the tether.

A vibrating feature in the Offender Monitor signals

the wearer that probation/parole officer has sent a
message.

The unit has the ability to notify the wearer, through a long
vibrate followed by a pause then followed by another long
vibrate, that the parole/probation officer has sent a
message. The unit has the ability to allow the wearer to
return a message indicating he/she received the original
message.

When the battery is coming close to end of charge a
vibrator vibrates 2 short time followed by a pause then a
repeat of the two short vibrates. The unit also has a LED
indicator, which changes color during its discharge cycle
constantly indicating battery condition. The unit notifies the
wearer with a long pulse followed by two short pulses that
the unit has not had a GPS fix for an as of yet unspecified
time period. This feature will be deactivated when the
tether signal is present.
