INVESTIGATE

Identify the Problem

Identify the problem:
The task is to find an unusual culture and to create a skit describing the
culture you have chosen will create this skit with your group members. The
skit must be videotaped and turned in.
Describe how the problem is important for life, society, and the environment
(use additional space if necessary).
The problem is important for life because if you ever visit the country this
culture is from, and you were in a situation where the culture was needed,
you could use it and not be seen as a form of disrespect to the country. This
is also good because then you can advise others about the cultures you
know about, whether they are unusual or not.

Develop the Design Brief

List 4 questions that will help you respond to the problem and guide the
investigation.

1. How did this culture come to be?

2. Why does it take place at a certain time or place?
3. What would happen to the country if they disobey the culture?
4. How does it impact others?
a) List the resources you will use to answer your guiding questions. b) How
do you know the source is reliable?
1a. Books
b. This source is reliable because you can find many books and if you
are not so sure about one book, there are many others available.
2a. Internet
b. This is a reliable source because you can find many online articles
and pictures, and some videos on your culture.
Use the sheet on page 4 to organize your research notes.

Develop the Design Specifications

List the specific requirements this project must meet (use additional space if
necessary).
Must be a skit/play relevant to unusual culture
Must involve group members (two or more)
Costumes and props (optional)
Must be videotaped
Must know about the culture, origin, reason, and impact.
Must be at least one minute long

Describe how you will test your final product/solution to see if it is

successful?
My group did not have a test to test on our skits. But if we had to, the test
would to present it to the class and have them each write a scored on the IB
scale and if we got at least half the class to give more than half of the scale,
we pass the test.

How did your solution do against your test from page 3?

Evaluate the solution, state your opinion.

How could you improve your solution?

Reflect on how the solution would impact on life, society, and the
environment

Did the design cycle help you build it better? Explain.
