ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Rainiers won their


second straight game against Salt Lake 5-2,
powered by two home runs from Franklin Gutierrez,
who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. Ketel
Marte, who extended his team-best hitting streak
to 11 games, and John Baker both contributed a
pair of hits, while Baker also checked in with one
RBI. Starting pitcher Jordan Pries quality start kept
the Bees offense in check as he went 7.0 innings
and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits.
Forrest Snow tossed 2.0 innings of relief with one
hit, earning his first save of the season.

SEND EM PACKING: The Rainiers pitching staff


has allowed an opponent batting average of just

Bees starting pitcher Andrew Heaney has made one


career start against the Rainiers - at home in Smiths
Ballpark on August 12, 2014. In his one start against
the Rainiers he went 7.0 innings and allowed two
runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out seven.
The left-handed Heaney faces a Rainiers lineup that
is hitting .307 (93x303) with 26 extra base hits against
southpaws, compared to a team batting average of
just .250 (152x609) against right-handed pitchers.
NOTABLES:
Franklin Gutierrezs two-homer
performance last night was his fourth since 2005,
and his first since August 21, 2012 at Reno. His
three RBI were the most since August 11, 2013 at
Albuquerque. Jesus Monteros eighth inning triple
last night was the 11th of his career, the 10th of
his minor league career, and his fourth with the
Rainiers. His last triple came on April 15, 2014, also
against Salt Lake. Forrest Snows two-inning save
was his first since September 2, 2010 while playing
with Single-A Clinton.

SEND IT: Tacoma batters have hit out 24 home


runs this year, the third highest total in the Pacific
Coast League. 15 have been solo shots, five have
been two-run bombs, and four have been three-run
dingers. 34 of the Rainiers 134 runs this year, or
27.6%, have come via home run.

GOING STREAKING: Infielder Ketel Marte


extended his hitting streak to 11 games with his
2-for-5 night against Salt Lake. His 11-game streak
is the longest on the team this season and tied for
the longest active streak in the PCL. He his now
hitting .383 (18x47) with seven runs, three doubles,
and four RBI during that stretch - his .383 average
is the third best mark in the league since April 24.
Marte has notched six hitting streaks in his career
of 10 or more games, including a career-high 14
games between June 7-26 of 2013. Marte is also the
only Tacoma player, and one of only four players in
the league, to have played in each of his clubs first
26 games this year.

PEN IS MIGHTIER: The Tacoma bullpen has allowed


only eight runs (seven earned) through 43.1 innings
pitched since April 22. During that span they have
