Establecer requisitos para la instalacin y coordinacin de los equipos

elctricos.

Establecer requisitos bsicos de seguridad para la proteccin contra el choque
elctrico p
para ser usados p
por los comits tcnicos.
Establecer los requisitos de seguridad para la proteccin contra otros peligros
derivados del uso de la electridad.
Dar una gua general a los pases miembros de IEC que pueden necesitar
de tales requisitos.
Facilitar los intercambios internacionales que puedan ser perjudicados por las
diferencias en las normativas nacionales.
Los estndares no cubren elementos individuales de los equipos
elctricos excepto el de la seleccin para su uso.
