SERVICE RULES
Effective from 10.05.2012
1. LEAVE
(a) Number of Leave
All employees would be eligible for 22 days leave in a year, which are non-en cashable . Leave calculation will be
done in April to March cycle.
If a holiday is there between two leaves then the holiday will be counted as leave.
An employee will earn 1day leave for 12 working days. This leave will be credited at the end of the
month. For a period of less than one month and more than 12 working days of service, one leave will be
credited. For less than 12 working days of service no leave will be credited.
All leave has to be sanctioned either before the leave or after the leave, as the case may be. The responsibility of
getting a leave sanctioned lies with the employee. A signed leave application is a must. For the site engineers they
can send an advanced copy in mail but a signed hardcopy has to follow. If the leave is not granted by the
authority, it will be taken as absence and his salary will be deducted for those days. The leave application
must be submitted within a week of joining duty post leave.
(e) Maternity / Paternity Leave :
Male Employees are eligible for 2 days Paternity Leave ,within one month after the birth of child .

For employees operating from office: If any employee has to work overnight or on a holiday, he will be
eligible for a compensatory leave, for that he/she has to inform office through a compensatory Leave Application
form. Employee can inform office on the next day also. A call report stating the activities done at night has to be
submitted to office along with customer signature. Without receipt of completed compensatory leave application
form duly authorized, his compensatory leave will not be credited.
If the job on a holiday is less than 4 hours, then he will get half day leave accumulated against his leave balance.
If the job extends more than four hours then he/she will be credited a full day leave. For night work also same
rule applies but if the person is unable to go home due to lack of conveyance, then he/she will be credited a full
day of compensatory leave.
Compensatory leave cannot be accumulated. Employee has to take another day off taking concurrence of his
supervisor within 30 calendar days of doing the extra duty.
For employees operating from customer site: No compensatory leave will be allowed for Employees
posted at Customer Site.
Employee can accumulate leave upto 60 days, but compensatory leaves cannot be accumulated.
(h) Units of Leave
If some one is absent for a continuous period of 7 days without leave or obtaining managers approval, you will be
deemed to have voluntarily terminated your service without notice.

2. TOUR
(a) Travelling
Employees will be entitled to sleeper class or Bus during travel. Employee will fill up tour bill immediately after
coming back from tour. The information (e.g. start time/ end time) mentioned in tour bill will be used for
calculating the eligibility of Daily Allowance.
(b) Lodging
(towards hotel charge) Employees will be reimbursed if he/she does a night stay in an out location. For the claim
necessary bills has to be submitted and reimbursement will be on actual upto a limit as follows
i.
Ring 1&2: Eligibility upto Rs.200.00
ii. Ring 3: Eligibility upto Rs.300.00
iii. Ring 4: Eligibility upto Rs.400.00
(d) Conveyance
Employees will be eligible reimbursement of actual conveyance cost. Journey to and fro from Station will be
treated as per local conveyance rules.
3. OFFICE HOURS
(a) Timings
For employees operating from office: Monday to Friday 9:30AM to 6:00 PM &Saturday 9:30
AM to 2:00PM .There will be a grace period of 10 minutes for attendance & beyond 9.40 AM one
will be marked late.
All Sunday will be weekly off days.
Note: While this is the general guideline, one will be responsible for results and hence expected to work
extra hours if needed for smooth completion of a job.
For employees operating from Site: As per the requirement of the site he/she is posted, in
conjunction with the Responsibilities clause of appointment letter. Anybody coming after 1 hour
from the duty start time, will be marked Half day absent, unless he/she obtains permission from
management, explicitly.
Special cases :If an employee has worked or traveled in the previous night, he will be allowed to
attend office by 2.00PM. Beyond that he will be marked absent. For traveling overnight no
compensatory off will be allowed. If an employee who has worked overnight does not report to duty
by 2.00PM, it will be assumed that he has availed his compensatory leave.

4. MEDICAL
All employees will be eligible for ESI as per government regulation.
5. LOCAL CONVEYANCE
An employee will be normally in probation for six months after joining the organization. This period can be less
or more depending on the employees performance in this period. Employee will be informed by a formal letter
on completion of probation.
Impacts:
No salary review will be done during confirmation other than exceptional cases.
Employee can avail his leave benefits on confirmation.
Notice period will increase from 1 day to 1 month.
7. ADVANCES
Advance taken by an employee for any purpose will be settled with his next months salary.
Dress Code:
All employees should wear formal & decent dresses in week days .
Proper Shaving & Shoes for Male Employees.
9. On Separation
Final settlement of employees will be done after generation of salary for the same month.
Retirement: Employee will retire from the services of Kaizen on attaining the age of 58 years.
10.Gratuity :
Employees complete 5 years in the organization at the time of separation he will be eligible for Gratuity
(=15 days basic salary multiply by no. of years of service) .
