This letter is to confirm that Fabio Santiago Nascimento, a visiting scholar at the Department of
Sociology and the Center for the Study on Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University, has
completed all the activities assigned to him under my supervision during his stay abroad. Some of the
activities developed by the scholar at the center include: an open seminar about his own research -
Discourses of masculinity and same-sex desire in Brazil, delivered on May 5 th, 2014, as part of the
Seminar Series, offered monthly by the center, review of manuscripts submitted for publication in the
journal Men and Masculinities, in which I am a current editor. Other general activities carried out by
Fabio during the period include his participation as an auditor in the course Advanced Analytic and
Argumentative Writing, ministered by Prof. Robert Kaplan, Program in Writing and Rhetoric, Stony
Brook University, Winter term, 2014, and three individual paper presentations at the following
