May 11, Mon - Ministry Team Meeting, 6 p.m., Board of Elders Meeting at 7 p.m.
Thanks for your prayers for these meetings. If you have questions, encouragement,
suggestions, etc. for our church, or if you have something you'd like to discuss or
present at one of these meetings, please share that with the ministry team. Your
input is welcomed.
May 13, Wed.- JGA, JBA and Jr. Youth will meet at the Bowmansville Mennonite
Church from 7-8:30 p.m. Jr. Youth will be doing a service project. JGA will plant
flowers and have an ice cream social with their mothers. Moms are invited to come
at 8 p.m. Girls and moms are invited to dress up. JBA will be going to Woodcrest
Retreat for a service project. These groups do not meet over the summer, so this will
be the last meeting until September.
May 14, Thurs.- Everyone is invited to a work day at MCC's Material Resources
Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Work includes quilting, sewing in the Sewing Room,
packing relief supplies, and recycling projects. Men and women are welcome, as
well as children, 11 years and older. If you are able to stay for the entire time, please
bring your lunch. Drink is provided.
May 17, Sun.- After church there will be a meal provided by family and friends to
help fund the remainder of Adin Frey's trip to Peru this summer.
May 20, Wed.-Bowmansville District Sewing Circle will meet at the Bowmansville
Mennonite in the morning and afternoon. This is the month for our covered dish
lunch, so please bring a hot or cold dish to share with the group. Place settings and
drink are provided. Everyone is welcome to come to help knot comforters, quilt, or
sew on a sewing machine. You are welcome to stay for the entire time, or just a few
hours as it suits you. The project for this month is Hygiene Kits. A kit contains the
following new articles:1 adult-size toothbrush, 1 large bar bath soap, 1 fingernail
clipper (good quality), 1 dark colored hand towel. Kit items can be brought to the
church and Sewing Circle will see they are taken to MCC. Thank you!
-There is interest in a new members/baptism class in the near future. Contact
Pastor Phil if you would like to participate in this bi-weekly class or have interest in
baptism and/or becoming a member of our church or have questions about this.
-We are trying to revive the photo directory project. There is a very rough draft
on the table in the narthex. Many family or individual photos are missing or are
already outdated. Photos may be taken most Sundays after church, or email a photo
to Pastor Phil philandkelly@gmail.com
