First of all, as a group of three, my group members and I were required to produce a multimedia presentation which included the video clips of our chosen moral value and the analysis of our subject based on the theories learned in child development. After discussing among our group, we agreed to choose sharing as the value of our multimedia presentation and we also decided to choose one of my group members cousin, Howard, 8 years old as our subject. After planning the flow of our multimedia presentation, we proceeded to do the recording and organizing of the presentation. In the beginning, being a person who likes to mix with children, I found this task very interesting because it involved interviewing children. I was excited when I first met my subject as this was my first formal interview with a child. Howard was a very cheerful and friendly child as he was able to mingle with me even though that was the first time we met each other. The circumstance during the interview, however was not what I expected as both of us were a bit nervous and rigid in front of the camera. Towards this, my weakness is that I have neglected the possibility of being camera shy. Despite the weakness, my strength is that I had done a multimedia presentation in my foundation year. Therefore, using the previous experience to my advantage, one of my strengths is that I focused on all the details in the video, particularly the appropriate use of background music and the duration of the transition. This is because I take the consideration that the audience might not have sufficient time to read through all the words written in the slides within a short period of time. My group members and I, thus, read through the slides several times to make sure that the duration of the transition was enough for the audience. Besides, it was indeed a very challenging task as it required a lot of brainstorming, creative ideas and skills to use the movie maker software. Yet, I am proud that my group was creative enough to discover some new skills to diversify our multimedia presentation. Additionally, to make the audience have a better understanding of our presentation, we also added subtitles to every video clip in our presentation. Moreover, my strength is that I spent plenty of time to search for suitable background music, some poignant images which can actually evoke the audiences feelings and creatively added in several photos of the subject with different emotions to make the multimedia presentation more appealing. Furthermore, the skill of recording videos is one of my strengths as well. Having this particular skill, I could actually produce footage with

good lighting and angle. Next, being tolerant and collaborative is my strength too so we managed to make this task a success without any intergroup conflict throughout the whole process. Upon the completion of this multimedia presentation, I had learned many things, including values I learned from Howard, knowledge about the theories applied and also the skills needed to make a video clip. The first thing I learned from him is his selfless action shown in the pre-activity which was to test if he had the value of sharing. I was shocked yet amazed that an 8-year-old child could be so caring and altruistic that he gave the larger portion of his favorite snack to his brother without hesitation. I was even touched when he said that the main reason he shared it was to make his brother happy. Compared to him, admittedly, I felt ashamed of my own behavior because even as an adult, sometimes, I will have difficulty sharing something with my sibling especially when the things are something I am fond of. His actions made me realize my weakness of being too self-centered. Also, his actions inspired me that in order to obtain true happiness is to have a heart which is willing to share and give out as it is more blessed to share than own. Besides values I had learned from Howard, I also gained more knowledge about the theories learned. Frankly, before doing this task, I did not really have a clear understanding on Kohlberg Lawrences and Jean Piagets theories which were taught in the class. This is because for me, knowing something and being able to practise it are two different things. However, through this task, I found that the theories of Kohlberg Lawrence and Jean Piaget are both applicable to the behavior of our subject. After reading the information of the theories from different sources and identifying the behaviour shown by our subject, I found that the theories are relevant and by having the profound understanding of those theories really do help me as a future teacher in analyzing my future students behavior and to subsequently tackle them. According to Kohlbergs theory level 2, stage 3, good boy nice girl orientation, children adopt teachers moral standards, so as a future teacher, I play an important role in shaping them into a person who is morally upright and emotionally intelligent. Last but not least, throughout the project, I had learned the skills to make an interesting video clip which I found useful as a future teacher to catch my students attention by inserting some video clips during my lessons. From my readings, my overall personal opinion is that having the knowledge of the process of child development and all the theories related is essential to be a responsible teacher as a teacher is not merely a knowledge disseminator; he/she also plays a vital role as a

care giver in a childs growth. Quoting Brad Henry, a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. In a nutshell, this task was both interesting and informative in which I was able to gain knowledge and skills at the same time. Fortunately, I was also able to complete this task without encountering any major problem either technically or emotionally. (1001 words)
