From conversations with American friends, I realized that not many of them understand
what is currently happening in Ukraine and how it affects their everyday life in the
United States.
I am a descendant of Russian nobility, a native of Ukraine and have lived in the United
States for the last 23 years. I want to see both Russia and Ukraine as free, democratic
nations, free from corruption and to live as good neighbors in peace and prosperity.
However my current feelings intersect between a dj vu and a faint hope.
I remind myself of the hero of the old Soviet joke:
Two guys are watching a movie about Chapaev, the legendary hero of the Russian Civil
War. At the end of the movie wounded Chapaev is trying to cross the Ural-river.
One guy says:
- He will swim out!
Second:
- No, he will drown!
-I bet he will swim out.
-I bet he will drown.
Chapaev drowned.
- Hey, how did you know that he did not swim out?
-I watched this movie 3 times!
- Hey, I watched it 9 times, but I thought that at the 10th time he definitely will swim out!
This joke captures my current outlook about is about me: I see that happening, but still
have a hope.
Only lazy one did not compare more Putin to Hitler. They have the same rhetoric of
speeches. Hitler also positioned himself as a peace protector and defender of the
oppressed in other countries, Germans. Putin defends allegedly oppressed Russianspeaking citizens in Ukraine. Soldiers of the Ukrainian Army, talk among themselves in
both Russian and Ukrainian by the way.
The level of the lies of Russian propaganda rose, compared with Nazi Germany. Russia
spends now huge money for this.
The difference between Putin and Hitler is that Hitler did not have nuclear weapons.
I watch Russian TV channels. Russian politicians including Putin seriously discuss the
possibility of nuclear war with the rest of the world. Brainwashed Russians citizens
permit such a development.

Putin's behavior can be explained by the bandit's psychology. The strength of the bandit
is the fear of the victim and bystanders. If the victim and bystanders are afraid of him,
he commits crime. If the victim and bystanders rebuff, the bandit run away. Bandit
always watch the reaction at first. Ukrainians were not prepared for this war. Putin has
long preparations for it. He considers everything to predict everything. Ukraine has no
army. Putin's agents have been implemented in all structures of the Ukrainian
government. Ukrainian economy was in a deplorable state. But a miracle happened.
Ukraine gave Putin rebuff. The army of many thousands of volunteers appeared from
nowhere. The efficient army of Ukraine appeared out of nowhere. The people of Ukraine
created the Ukrainian Army, which constrains Russian military. This is the best sons of
Ukraine. They need help now, not waiting until Russian troops will occupy next cities:
Artiomovsk, Moreupol, Nikolaev, Kharkov, Odessa ....
Putin is dangerous. Andrew Piantkovsky, Russian nuclear expert, a member of the
Russian-American nuclear nonproliferation commission, considers Putin as the greatest
threat to our civilization for all time of its existence.
Putin scares and blackmails, he observes reaction. Russians captured Crimea - the
world took the blow. Russians shot the Boeing - the world took the blow. Russians
troops occupied the east of Ukraine again, the world took the blow. Russians violated
first truce, then the second truce and so on. Every time Russians capturing new
territory, violated the truce and the world takes the blow. Come on... I assure you, it will
continue until Ukraine will not receive modern weapons from the West.
My mother survived the 2nd World War and the German occupation, told me in detail
how that war began. Both because of the cowardice and indecision of European
leaders, Hitler was able to seize the Sudetenland without a fight, then Czechoslovakia,
Austria, and much of Europe. My mother was a witness, as the 1st of September 1939,
Germany invaded Poland. The Poles thought that the Red Army goes to protect them
from Hitler. It was a big disappointment when they realized that this section of the
country.
Great Britain and Czechoslovakia were related treaty of mutual military assistance. In
1938 Great Britain betrayed Czechoslovakia. Choosing between shame and war, Britain
chose to shame, and a year later get also the war as well.
This mirrors the current situation around Ukraine. Ukraine dropped its third in size of
nuclear arsenal in exchange for guarantees of its territorial integrity. Budapest
Memorandum signed on the 5th of December 1994. Guarantors were the United States,
Russia and the UK. Two other party on the Non-Proliferation Treaty, France and China,
have expressed similar guarantees in the form of the declarations but have not signed
the memorandum.
And then the test of the strength of international law came. Russia as one of the
guarantors annexed a part of the Ukraine territory. All international agreements are
violated. In Russian documentary about the Crimea annexation, Putin confesses to
crimes committed.
- "Yes, I lied, Putin said. Yes, Crimea annexation was preparing for a long time. Viktor
Yanukovych was my project for the destruction of Ukraine. Crimea captured by the

Russian troops." His interview looks like the voluntary surrender to the Hague war
crimes tribunal.
Putin's speech in Crimea is the literal translation of Hitler's speech about the annexation
of the Sudetenland.
The presence of Russian troops in Donbass - is a proven fact. Russian prisoners of war
have been captured in Ukraine. The modern Russian military equipment, which never
been sold abroad, has been observed in Donbass. There are satellite pictures. There
are video filmed on both sides of the border. Russia continues to lie, (about its role in
the current conflict) that it is not party to the conflict. However, military equipment,
ammunition and troops continue to arrive from Russia to Ukraine by endless stream.
This is a war, not a conflict.
Ukraine asks the international community for military aid. The world community
pretends that it cannot hear, and not understand these cries for help. The world
community is deeply concerned, instead, that would give Ukraine modern weaponry.
European leaders pretend that they are trying to negotiate with the aggressor, to
conclude peace agreements with it. What is the point to conclude the peace
agreements with the bandit with a knife at your throat? What is the point to conclude the
peace agreements with a bandit who broke all previously signed treaty? What is the
point to sign the next one?
"Political theater" played by Olland and Merkel at the summits called Minsk-1 and
Minsk-2 was nothing else but an imitation of a flurry activity to raise their ratings in its
short-sighted voters. Every time the truce was used by Russia to accumulate the
military equipment, personnel, and for the subsequent capture of new territories of
Ukraine. Immediately after the signing of the agreement "Minsk-2" Russia captured a
large railway junction - the Debaltseve city. After the capture of Debaltseve, equipment
and troops began to arrive already on the railway, making the intervention easier and
cheaper. But despite the capture Debaltseve and daily attacks against Ukrainian
positions and daily losses, the statements that Minsk-2 agreement are generally
respected are pronounced.
There are thousands of dead on both sides of the war. Dozens of towns and hundreds
of villages have already been destroyed. Millions of refugees have lost everything they
had. All this is happening because of the cowardice and indecision of the international
community, with a soft response, soft sanctions. The World leaders are trying to bury
their heads in the sand and not see the reality like ostriches, because the reality is so
scary.
Engineers are aware that the price of the errors fixing in the development of the
computer systems increases exponentially with a time so the price increases very
strongly. Procrastination and inaction always will increases the price.
Cowardice and indecision of Western leaders increases the price Ukrainian crisis. If the
military aid to Ukraine would be a few months ago when Poroshenko asked it in the US
Senate in last October, there wouldn't now Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic.

Now I want to discuss the main aspect of the Ukrainian crisis that may affect everyone,
without exception, inhabitant of our planet.
The situation around Ukraine is closely monitoring by other countries that are able to
create their nuclear weapons, but still rely on the guarantee of the United States.
Now they understand that they must rely only on themselves.
Members of royal family of Saudi Arabia expressed intentions to seek the right to
possess nuclear weapons. Saudi Arabia frightened ambitious nuclear plans of Iran and
the lack of rigidity of the United States in this matter. Despite the IAEA panic
statements, president Obama behaves hesitant and inconsistently.
As a result, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina,
South Africa, and some Arab countries may have the nuclear weapons soon. Ukraine
can regain the nuclear weapons back also. Ukraine has the technology, good scientists
and nuclear materials.
Will our planet be a safe place to live after that? I think not.
In view of the dramatic expansion of the nuclear club, the technology leakages
prevention will become much more difficult. Nuclear technology will inevitably fall into
the hands of terrorist organizations and countries. Global catastrophe will be inevitable.
And then the tragedy of 9/11, will look like a pin prick compared with the disaster that
will touch each inhabitant of the Earth.
Now I will try to explain the situation even simpler.
Ukraine, abandoning its third the size nuclear arsenal and got insurance similar as you
bought for your car. The accident has occurred. Ukraine brought the insurance policy
and find out that this is a fake. The remaining holders of the insurance will refuse the
insurance company. What's the point to insure if it's a fake? The reputation of the
insurance company must be saved . America must give to Ukraine anti-tank missiles,
and all that will be asked immediately. This is the only way to prevent international
justice from bankruptcy.
Each of you must do something. You should talk about this with friends and
acquaintances. You should share this information using all available ways. Please call
the White House. Call the politicians you know.
This must be done if you do not want the radioactive ash on your backyard in near
future.
I have warned you.
