SABIS Ski & Snowboarding Outing
Information Regarding
Parents of Students in Grades 6-12
equipment, rentals of skis, snowboards,
boots, poles and helmets will be available at
the resort, for a nominal rental fee. All
participants are required to wear
helmets. Additionally, if your child has
never skied or boarded before, a lesson is
advised. Lessons will also be available for
any level, and it never hurts to take a quick
refresher session with a Certified Instructor.

Travel Details
The SABIS bus will depart the Joan Street
parking lot at 2:00 PM sharp and travel to
the ski area. Travel time is about 1 hour
and 15 minutes. At arrival, students will be
chaperoned to the ticket, rental and lesson
areas, where they will be ticketed and/or
outfitted with equipment. They will then be
on their own to ski or board, as desired.
Lesson participants will be escorted to the
ski school area. At 8:45 PM the bus will
begin its trip back to SABIS.

Weather Postponement
In the event of dangerous travel conditions,
the trips will be cancelled, and postponed
to a later date, to be determined, based on
chaperone availability and transportation
arrangements.
Feb. Vacation Ski & Snowboard Outing
Winter Fun for Grades 6-12
This February 2010 vacation week, we are
trying out a new after-school winter
sporting event for students in Grades
6-12. The Ski and Snowboarding Club, in
cooperation with the SABIS Booster Club
and the SABIS Athletic Department will be
sponsoring our second ski
snowboarding outing on February 18th.
The first trip in December provided a fun-
filled outdoor recreational activity for all of
the student participants. We look forward
to another successful outing on a week
where the students don’t have a full day of
school following the trip.
First Outing Planned Dec 16th
The trip is planned for Thurs. Feb. 18th,
leaving SABIS at 2:00 PM sharp, when we
will travel to Berkshire East Ski Area, in
Charlemont, MA, which is about 65 miles
from SABIS. The area offers novice to
expert terrain, and is a popular resort for
many school outings from the area. For

Outing Details
Student & Guardian Responsibility
Trip Date February 18, 2010 Students will be responsible for their own
personal winter clothing, meals, snacks and the
Departure Time 2:00 PM sharp management of their personal time. The students
will have to be aware of departure times from the
area and will have to take care of their own
Leave from Resort 8:45 PM sharp personal belongings. It is anticipated that there
will be a 7:1 student/chaperone ratio. One

chaperone will remain in the base lodge during
Return Time aprox. 10:30 PM
the visit, in order to ensure that an adult is always
available in the event of an emergency, injury or

required for all beginners and first-time skiers

Parent/Guardian Permission Slip, and enclose your
