Lubricatenon-wickeredportionofSlipswithJT-6HighTempGrease.

ChecktoseethattheDragPadunitisstillbackagainsttheStop.
7.
ChecktoseethattheDragPadUnitisstillupagainsttheControlNut.
RotateSettingSleevedownoverSlipuntilsleevebottomsout.Backo1/2turn.
8.
TightenSetScrews.LubricateStingerSealandthreadsonControlLatch,then
SlideRetainerover
Stinger.
9.
DriveRetaineroverStingerSealuntiltheRetainerbottomsoutontheControlLatch.
10.
RotateRetainertomake -upontoControlLatch.(LeftHandThread).
11.
InstallRotationalLockScrew(s)inhole(s)inControlLatchandsecure.
RunningInAndSettingMechanically
Duringrunningin,caremustbeexercisedtopreventright-handrotationfrombeingtransmittedtotheRetainer.
NOTE: Asaprecaution,oneleft-handrotationshouldbemadeeveryvetotenstands.
1.Afterreachingsettingdepth,pickuptwofeettoprovideslackwhichwillallowthecontrolnuttorotatefreely.
2.Rotatetenturnstotheright(atthetool)tothreadthecontrolnutupwardandfreethecontrolsleeve.
3.Lowerthetoolbacktosettingdepth.Thisaction,combinedwiththerestrainingforceofthedragpads,pulls
thesettingsleevefromovertheupperslipassembly.Theradialsprings,attachedinsidetheupperslip
segmentforcetheslipsoutagainstthecasing.Atthesametimetheretainingsleeveispulledoofthedog,
un-lockingthestingersubbodyfromthecontrollatch.

4.T ocompletethesettingoftheRetainerorBridgePlugpullatleasttheminimumtensionshowninthechart
below.Slackoanequivalentamountonthetoolandreapplytensionholdingforatleastaminute.Thetubing
maybetestedatthispointbypullingaslighttensiontoclosethesleevevalve.Theremaybetimeswhenjunk
intheholemaypreventthefullreleaseofthedogfromthestingersubbodyandtherebyp
reventactuationof
thevalve.Shouldthisoccur,asindicatedbytestingthetubing,alternatelypickupandslackothetubing.This
actionwillcamthedogoutofthegrooveinthestingersubbodyandallowfullcontrolmovement.Thesleeve
valveis operatedwith2"ofmovementattheretainer,uptocloseanddowntoopen.
5.T oreleasethesettingtoolfromtheRetainer,pickuptoclosethevalve.Holdingaslighttension,apply300
to400ft-lb(Size45 -47OneShearScrew)or600 -800ft-lb(Size 49upTwoShearScrews)ofrighthandtorque
tothetubingordrillpipe.Thiswillsheartherotationallockscrewsandallowthecontrollatch,withten
additionalrighthandturns(atthetool),tobeunscrewedfromtheRetainer.
6.Afterreleasingf romtheRetainerrotationally,aset-downweightof3,000to5,000lbswillre-latchthe
settingtoolandan8,000to10,000lbs.tensionwillunlatch.ThestingerwillremainsealedinCementRetainer
SealBoreaslongasthesnap -outforceisnotexceeded.
NOTE: TheCementRetainerBodyismadeofareadilydrillablematerial.Eachtimethesettingtoolissnappedoutofthe
Retainer,thesnap -inandsnap-outvalueswilldecreaseslightlyuntiltheyreachapproximately2,500lbs(snap -in)and
5,000lbst o6,000lbs(snap -out).ThispatternwilloccurwitheachRetainerrun.Controlofthevalveismaintainedby
settingdowntoopenandbypickinguptoclose.ThecontroldistanceintheRetaineris2".
