Information about the class
There are about 22 young learners in the class. They have two fifty minutes lessons
every week as part of their school curriculum. I have been teaching them for nearly
five months. They use English scrapbook as their English course book.
Main Aim
By the end of the lesson the learners will have practiced the skill of reading for
general understanting/ specific information and using the definite article.
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
Develop interest in the topic, practice the skill of reading for general understanding,
develop reading comprehension and raise awareness of text cohesion, develop the
skill of reading for specific information, raise sts awareness of the definite article,
practice in using the definite article, use the informations gained in the lesson-to
make a fact file on Romania.
Personal Aim
Make sure that all the learners are involved in activities and develop interest in the
topic.

Learners have to read the text and look at the


map. The teacher will draw their attention to
differences between the way that numerals are
written in Romanian and in English.She go
through answers with the class. (ex1/p44)
Learners are asked to look at the pictures and to
read the text quickly.Then they have to say
Where the text comes from and to justify their
answer.(ex2a)
Learners are asked to read the sentences and
check vocabulary they dont understand. Then
sts read the text silently and find clues to put the
sentances in the right place.(ex2b)
Sts have to read the text again. The teacher will
encourage them to relate the content to what
they have already learned in their geography,
history or other subject classes.(ex2c)
Sts have to copy the heading in their notebooks.
They are asked to reread the text and to write
details under each heading. Sts have to check
answers in pairs.(ex2d)
The teacher will draw learnersattention to the
Language Focus box for cases when the Definite
Article is used.(ex 3a)
