Learners are asked to pay attention to the

illustration and to predict what the chapter is
about, individually.
Learners are guided to their reading by pre-set
question: They have to read the text silently and
say Why Grandpa Joe thinks that Willy Wonk is
a magician.
Learners are asked to read the text silently
Check the answers to the question; Discussion
based on their reaction to the content
This will be a role-play activity(one student will
be the narrator, one will be the boy(Charlie), one
grandpa Joe, one will be Mr Bucket(Charlies
father) and one will be Charlies mother.
Learners are asked to direct their attention
towards the words that are new for them. Sts
should try to deduce the meaning of the new
words from the context.
Learners are asked to think about the main
idea(s) of the story/chapter and the main
characters.
Sts are asked about the first chapter. Then they
have to summarise orally the story so far.
Sts have to write a summary for these chapters.
