VII. City of Surman

VIII. Forbidden Desert

e. Ambush
1. Outside the cave, the party is beset by assassins
2. Assassins don't care about the conflict, only getting paid
IX. Narwain
a. Arriving on the shores of Narwain, the party is arrested by Parliament Guard
1. Outsiders not allowed on forested island
2. Party taken before Parliament of Druids
b. Party explains quest
1. Parliament reveals a human lives in the forest who might have answers
2. Only allowed passage if they agree to hunt down and kill a savage elf who has taken
refuge near their destination
3. Escorted to a riverboat that will take them where they want to go
c. Party meets hermit
1. Hermit agrees to help if they will dispatch a group of nearby halfling poachers who
have sneaked onto the island, hunting for exotic game
2. Must take out leader, not just hunters

ancient beast on the temple grounds by the elf who was his predecessor's predecessor
5. Asks the party to retrieve the sword for him, says he will dedicate his armies to the
war effort if they do this and help him regain his position
6. Attacks if they refuse
g. The beast is killed and the blade retrieved
1. The savage returns to the Grove of Druids, asks party to meet when they can
h. The Temple
1. Spirit appears in the mirror on the wall, asks questions
2. Ethical dilemma chambers
3. Battle with wights if wrong
4. The map is reached
i. Back to the Grove
1. Boat operator saw the savage with the blade, attacks party for their betrayal
2. Back at the Grove of Druids, the party must side with either the Savage or his
betrayer, the new Champion; they fight one or the other
3a. The Savage burns down the Grove of Druids, declares Narwain's isolation over
3b. The Champion thanks the party for helping defeat the Savage
4. Party is rewarded for their help
X. Fallowhearth
a. Council Embassy welcomes party
1. Fallowhearth exports valuable healing fungus to both vampires and council
2. Council can't act openly against Fallowhearth if they want fungus
3. Ambassador will help party if they rescue a captured soldier from vampire embassy
4. Soldier carried steel box with valuable intel
5. Dark elf at the embassy claims children are being abducted by vampires, asks party to
rescue them from vampire embassy
b. Finding a Way In
1. Interrogate a captured vampire for the passphrase to enter the side entrance
2. Kick in the door
3. Guess the call/response passphrase
c. Raid on the embassy
1. Party raids embassy
2. Finds children
3. Children came willingly for eternal life, will be made vampires when they prove
themselves
4.Party finds soldier, dead;
5. Locked steel box on table near cell contains intel
6. Authorities are waiting for party as they leave the embassy
7. Party arrested
8. Soldier's evidence seized

e. Return to the Ambassador
1. Party returns to the council embassy
2. Ambassador reveals council and rogue elements of the Fallowhearth government have
a secret fungus farm in a cavern deep underground
3. Ambassador provides them horses and sends them along
f. Underground Farm
1. Arriving at the farm, the party finds everyone dead, drained of blood
2. Heavy ancient door found

3. Behind door lies map and treasure


4. Vampire general Drangleic attacks the party, says not everyone wants a cure
g. Back to the Embassy
1. The party returns to the council embassy to find it being packed up
2. Ambassador says the council is being removed from Fallowhearth because of its
illegal harvesting
XI. Prison of the Vampires
a. On the way to the next map, the party is ambushed by vampire forces
1. Party taken prisoner
2. Taken to vampire prison (NOT the precursor temple), put in a cell
3. Interrogated by Captain Beatan
4. Beatan reveals that the southern half of Thrimichath has been taken by the vampire
army, and that Casaubon himself is on the way to personally interrogate the party
b. Once in their cells, they meet the hooded man they met in Thrimichath early on
1. He asks for their help to escape
2. The party escapes with the man
c. During the escape, the party runs into Beatan, who they battle
d. Almost out the door, they encounter Casaubon, who challenges them
1. As they are about to be killed, the hooded man tells them to run
2. Hooded blasts vampire with a ray of sunlight, knocking him into nearby room
3. Hooded chases him into room
4. Party sees Casaubon stand up, laughing smugly, and raise a hand to the door, which
shuts telekinetically
5. Party runs
XII. Karash Huruk
a. The map appears to be located in a tomb somewhere in the valley of the precursors
1. Tomb sealed
2. The Elder's son reveals that the tomb is only accessible to those who have gained the
respect of the orc elder of the village that surrounds it, and that within lies the final test
to prove oneself worthy of joining the village
b. Gaining respect
1. Defeating a village champion (there are 3) in single combat (1 Points)
2. Learning the Emperor's Cant (1 Point)
3. Retrieve an artifact from any of the 3 open tombs in the valley (3 Points Each)
c. Gaining respect part 2
1. Once 9 points are earned, the Elder's son approaches the party
2. He can put in a good word, making sure the Elder allows them into the final tomb
3. He wants help killing his father to become village chieftain once the final test is
complete

XIII. The Lost City
a. The maps lead to an uncharted island
1. City on island
2. Overrun by zombie-like feral vampires
b. Traverse the city, kill vampires
1. Party finds gold wall plaque depicting a paladin of Thrimichath fighting off a dragon
and a drake horde

c. Pair of Iron Golems guarding entrance to palace courtyard

2. Party finds statue of Paladin Lawrence, his helmet off, and an inscription on the base
reading Lawrence, our savior, who we name Casaubon, for he brought light despite
the dark within

1. Cure was not cure, but replacement for sentient blood
2. Gough founded city here for ancient vampires

4. In their weakness, vampires were attacked by a dragon, but Lawrence saved them

6. Another such city built on a reservoir on what is now Tolvath
7. Never heard of precursors, Gough is an orc
8. Hid way to cities to keep liquid from being used nefariously
9. The cure is pure liquid magic, which the dragons hoard
10. Dragon Wars resulted in much of it being destroyed to weaken the dragons
f. One of the following enters the room, flanked by guards, depending on who is alive
1. Drangleic

g. Fight with the pursuer
XIV. Tolvath
a. Casaubon attacked Tolvath to claim the second city
b. Universal Spire built on top of ruins second city
1. Now both are in ruins, allowing access to the city
c. Island now abandoned entirely
d. City beneath the volcano that the Spire was built into, sunk into lava
XV. The Second City
a. City overrun by drakes
b. Ancient Dragon guarding entrance to palace
c. Palace fountain still runs
1. One of the last reservoirs
XVI. Return to the Council and the Peace Summit
a. The council is excited that a substitute has been found
b. Some worry it may not last long enough to be worth it
c. Peace Summit called
1. Party told to rest
2. Party given free reign for 24 hours, asked to return at that time
d. The Results, 24 hours later:
1. Council offers peace
2. Council offers to ration the liquid, allotting an amount per population to each nation
3. Council wants Casaubon
4. Vampires refuse to let council control liquid
5. Casaubon refuses to turn himself in and not see the fruits of his thousand years of
work

6. Council tried to arrest Casaubon, who fought back, only the Halfling councilor
survived
XVII. The Siege of Darkness
a. The sole councilor orders a siege on the Vampire's castle deep in the Wastes, at the Old
Precursor temple, where the party began their journey
b. The Plan:
1. Halfling siege engines will assault the walls
2. Elven archers will provide cover fire for footsoldiers
3. Human footsoldiers and Halfling Steel Folk will assail the entrance
4. Dwarven highlanders will climb the walls and assault the temple from all sides
5. All led by Halfling Councilor, Mounted in Steel Warrior, and Lord Knight Falcone
6. Party is to get to Casaubon as quickly as possible, and engage, NOT kill
7. If he were killed he would be a martyr, he needs to be taken prisoner, and justly tried
8. If Theren was sided with in Narwain, his people join the battle as well
c. The assault begins
d. Final battle with Casaubon
1. Casaubon reveals truth
2. The church betrayed him, knew there was no cure, but sent him on a goose chase
3. Meeting Gough's people showed him that the church was wrong; not all vampires evil
4. Cure was only temporary, and while it existed council could use it for control
5. Casaubon planned to destroy the cure and blame the council, ensuring loyalty from
vampires
6. Casaubon was to lead the Vampires into a golden age of rule over the people of the
world
7. Only wanted to save his people
XVIII. Aftermath
a1. Halfling Councilor wounded grievously in battle, now dying
1. Councilor's suit was damaged, he fought on foot
2. His arm was severed, he fell to the ground
3. You did a damn fine job, friends. I... I'm proud of you.

knowledge of necromancy in the never-ending pursuit of ressurection
4. Hafthor offered to head up new elite council guard, Dwarven Matriarchs offer him `
position as a general in the ongoing wars against the Deep Goblins
e. Casaubon handed life sentence, locked away beneath the council headquarters, in his own
former seat of power
