in the mix will be quite focused (not huge amounts of reverb or
panning), smooth articulation, notes of a longer duration
EXTERIOR/SURROUNDINGS (ES): Sounds will be clear and
recognisable, textures the same
HUMAN INTERATION (HI): Human voices/words will be audible and
focused
BREAK DOWN
Things begin to change/warp
Exert from metamorphosis
T: Pace/tempo becomes faster then dramatically slow and random,
the rhythms will be frantic and chaotic with no order, uncomfortable
pitch
E: Extremes of loudness and softness/ dynamics, articulation is
short and chaotic, panning maybe chaotic and disorientating, the
psychological space in the mix will be come greater in distance
making you feel less grounded
ES: The same sounds used previously begin to become warp and
unrecognisable, the noises become sinister and confused
HI: Human voices/words begin to become
inaudible/confusing/random/intimidating/nasty
CLIMAX
Big climatic build
Climax enters into a calm, dream like place
This is a total break from the mental state and the physical self (self
preservation)
The body is no longer present; the brain is momentarily free from
both aspects
Exert from Beautiful as the day 5 Children and It
T: After the build there will be no specific thought aspects eg
rhythm/tempo

E: After the build the dynamics will become much softer/heaven

like, slow/long articulation/duration of notes
ES: After the build there will be no physical exterior represented so
no familiar/worldly sounds
HI: An excerpt from 5 children and it will be audible

Return to normality
Same sounds, familiar surroundings but everything is changed
The journey has left a lasting impact
T: Reduced Listening - Rhythm will be introduced starting fast and
slowly reducing over time (back to its normal state) There will,
however, be some fluttering notes to signify that everything cannot
return to normal after an experience like this
E: The dynamics will return to a medium, with no extremes here,
the psychological space will reduce, back to a more focused listen.
There will, again, however be some very brief inclusions of the
previously experienced extremes
ES: The sounds will appear to be returning to normal in clarity,
texture etc however there will be still some manipulations of the
sounds, possibly sweeping in and out to portray the lingering
confusion/trauma
HI: Voices will become audible again but wont necessarily be
comprehendible or clear or they may still be warped in some way,
however they shouldnt appear sinister.
The journey of the piece has led to a permanent change in the
music, as was in the represented person experience the psychosis
White noise represents change (the dull roar in the background)
