DIALOGUE: FAMILY REUNIONS

Some relatives are going to visit you and your partner for Christmas. They know neither the city
nor the events celebrated at Christmas in the city. Think about possible plans so that your
relatives have a memorable stay.
You are going to discuss about the family reunion. Also, you are going to express your wishes,
complaints and regrets about this topic.
The dialogue should last around 4 - 5 minutes.
Choose a role and develop it explaining the items shown below:
STUDENT A: A party lover
Greet your partner
Tell him/her you think the best plan is
going out to a restaurant and a disco.
Discuss the alternatives.
Come to an agreement.
Say goodbye.

STUDENT B: A family lover

Greet your partner.
Tell him/her you think the best option is
staying at home and playing board games.
Discuss the alternatives.
Come to an agreement.
Say goodbye.

You can also revise all verb tenses and vocabulary studied in Unit 1 and 2 that deal with
relationships, family and Christmas.

Ask and give information about family and preference.
Express your wishes, regrets and complaints.

Tip 1: This task is an interaction between two people, not a monologue, so you will have to express your
opinion or ask for detailed information to your partner while he/she is speaking.
Tip 2: Remember that the conversation has to sound natural, so intonation and rhythm are essential.
Tip 3: You mustn't read. Practice the conversation until being sure you can do it in front of the teacher.
