Fusion Welding
Fusion welding caters to jointing the components, that is pipes, that are used to build an
operational system. Polyethylene pipe systems are relatively simple to joint and install.
MWSC houses specialized equipment for fusion welding and provides these services to
clients at a reasonable price.

Butt fusion
Fusing together of two pipe ends in a specialist machine which prepares the pipe ends,
heats them and brings them together under pressure to form a homogeneous weld, the
end result is as strong as the parent pipe eg: PE100 PE 100 and similar SDRs are used,
eg: SDR 11 SDR 11

Angle Butt Welding

Angle butt welding of PE pipes ranging from 90 315 mm
Capacity for welding 90 bend, 30 - 60 wye branch, cross and tee pipes

Electrofusion
Electrofusion fittings incorporate an electrical heating element which is energised via an
E/F control box to heat the elements.
When the fitting is energized the material next to it becomes molten and in turn
causes the pipe surface to melt, resulting in a molten pool of material fusing the materials of
fitting and pipe. Once cooled this produces a fully fused and leak free joint.

WEDECO UV disinfection systems

UV disinfection is growing in popularity around the world as an effective

water disinfection process.

Bacteria, viruses, yeast and parasites (for example, cryptosporidium and

giardia) are effectively inactivated by using UV light.

There is no development of resistance in UV disinfection and there are no
resultant dangerous by-products to this process.
