Customized On-Site Workshops for Agribusiness


These important educational programs are available at no cost to you and your company with the support
of funds from the Susan Harwood Training Grant. Travel costs for instructors and equipment will be requested.

Conducting a Comprehensive Occupational


Health History/ or Health Review
Participants will learn how to take a comprehensive occupational
health history that incorporates agricultural related exposures.
Various clinical instruments such as the AgriSafe Health
Risk Assessment and personal health goals will be used to
demonstrate proper protocols.

Grain Safety Workshops


Participants will learn the proper way to enter a grain bin,
Lock-Out Tag Out procedures, the proper use of body harnesses
and PPE to be used when working with grain. The hands on
segment of the class will include the new NECAS mobile grain
engulfment training simulator.

Chemical Safety
Participants will learn how to select PPE, proper storage, labeling,
and usage of chemicals. Resources such as safety checklists will
be shared.

Respirator Selection for Agricultural Producers


General respiratory hazards and respiratory classifications
will be reviewed to assist the participant in gaining a better
understanding of respiratory hazards and protection. Participants
will practice using the AgriSafe Respiratory Selection Guide by
engaging in case studies.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


for Agricultural Producers
Recommendations for head to toe protection will be discussed
and demonstrated using various types of personal protective
equipment (coveralls, aprons, safety glasses, goggles, gloves
and hearing protection).

Prevention of Grain Storage Fires and Explosions


Case studies will be used to teach the prevention of grain dust
explosions, general housekeeping principles and the causes of
grain dust explosion.

Ergonomics: Slips, Trips & Falls Prevention


Participants will be able to identify hazards in the work area to
include housekeeping policies, PPE, hazard identification, and
fall protection.

AgriSafe and NECAS are identified 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.
