Introduction
eGPS-6500 is the new generation of the smallest compact Bluetooth GPS receiver from eGPS-6500
simply turns a Bluetooth-enabled computing device into the wireless navigation system with most
GPS-enabled navigation software selling in the market.
With new skytraq chipset and high sensitive GPS antenna, eGPS-6500 will surely lead you to
experience the highest GPS reception performance and the remarkable GPS accuracy. The
eGPS-6500 is well suited to system integrations including PDA, Smart phone, Tablet PC and
Notebook PC with Bluetooth devices. It satisfies a wide variety of applications that are purposes in
automotive and outdoor recreation navigation system.

Battery Warning
To prevent any accidents, which might be caused with rechargeable battery at high
temperature, please do not leave alone the BT GPS for long time at a vehicle when it is
not used.
Do not expose the internal battery to high temperature over over 140F (50C)
Do not disassemble the battery.

Activating Bluetooth on your PDA or PC


Before activating the Bluetooth function on your PDA/PC, please switch on the BT GPS
Receiver for pairing and check that your device is equipped with Bluetooth.
NOTE : The pairing procedure is only required the first time you use this device.
1 Activate the Bluetooth pop-up menu, turn on the Bluetooth function and select BT Manager.
2 Click Connect to establish a new connection.

3 Select Explore a Bluetooth device, then turn on the eGPS-6500 power before going on to
the next step.

4 Select Device, then click Next.

5 Choose and click on BT GPS.


6 Enter password 0000, and press Enter.

7 Select SPP slave, then click Next.

8 Click Finish and your eGPS-6500 connection should be established successfully.

9 Click the Bluetooth icon again, and select Bluetooth Settings.


10 In the Serial port window, click Enable service, then set the outbound COM port to

1 Activate your PaPaGo Software
2 Click Tools and select Option.

3 Click GPS, and setup as described below.


4 Return to the main screen, clicks tools and select GPS to open the GPS status window.
5 GPS position is fixed and navigation begins.

Turn off your PDA or PC


Switch off the Bluetooth function before you turn off your PDA/PC, and
Switch off .Receiver will disconnect the GPS function. If the eGPS-6500 is in
AUTO mode, you do not need to take additional action.

How to test your Bluetooth GPS Receiver


The testing program only supports the Microsoft Windows CE & Pocket PC based PDA
platform.

Run the GPS View to execute the installation procedure of testing program (via PC and
ActiveSync).
Run the GPS Information program from Start Program files of PDA.

Here is the description of GPS Information testing program


User must select COM port, Baud Rate (9600) and click theStar GPSbutton to start receiving
GPS data.
NoteThe Bluetooth device in most of the applications have an auto-detect feature that
you do not need to select the Baud Rate.
