that our children are one of the

for any society.
As the crime situation continues to deteriorate in the
Caribbean especially in Jamaica,
the incidents of abduction, rape

Men Charged
With Stealing
Nine Homes
BROOKLYN:
Nassau County man has been indicted
in connection with illegally transferring the titles of seven houses in Brooklyn
and two in Queens from their true owners to
himself or a corporation then renting out
some of the properties and selling others. A
second man and the corporation are also
named in the indictment.
Brooklyn District Attorney Ken
Thompson on Tuesday identified the defendants as Danny Noble, 45, of 719 Jay Way,
in Baldwin and Romelo Grey, 37, of 352
Randall Avenue, in Freeport.
They were arraigned before Brooklyn
Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun on an
indictment in which they are variously
charged with fourth-degree conspiracy, firstdegree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree grand larceny, and
first-degree falsifying business records.
Noble was ordered held on $500,000
bond or $250,000 cash bail. He faces up to
25 years in prison if convicted. Grey was ordered held on $25,000 bond or $10,000 cash
bail. He faces up to four years in prison if
convicted.
Both were ordered to return to court on
August 5. The corporation, 69 Adelphi
Street, LLC, is also variously charged in the
indictment. It faces a fine of up to $10,000
if convicted.
According to the indictment, between
June 29, 2010 and March 31, 2015, the defendants falsely transferred title to seven
Brooklyn properties: 71 Carlton Avenue,
104 Vanderbilt Avenue, 45 North Oxford
Street and 70 Clermont Avenue, in Fort
Greene; 1391 East 95th Street in Canarsie;
357 Jefferson Avenue in BedfordStuyvesant; 729 Essex Street in East New
York and two properties in Queens: 94-05
108th Street in Jamaica and 187-05 Liberty
Avenue in Hollis.
Five of the properties were transferred
from the actual homeowners to Noble, according to the indictment, three were transferred to 69 Adelphi Street, LLC, and one to
a third party. The defendants allegedly targeted the properties because the owners did
not live in the houses and rarely visited
them.
Once the titles were transferred, according to the indictment, the defendants
carried out various scams in order to cash in
on them.

Thompson on May 6 announced that Davis
pleaded guilty to one count of attempted
scheme to defraud in the first-degree.
The District Attorney said that, from
October 2013 to July 2014, Davis employed
at least 15 people to work at Ednas Soul

Protests Visit of LGBT Envoy
KINGSTON, JAMAICA:
Members of the Christian-based group, Love March Movement, gathered at Emancipation
Park in New Kingston on Friday to protest the visit of US Special Envoy for the human
rights of lesbian, gays, bisexual, and transgender persons. Randy Berry was in Jamaica
on a three-day visit. In addition to 12 persons with placards, they had forty two thousand
signatures contained in a petition to the government to keep the buggery law. The group
is seeking audience with Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miler to present the petition.
Meanwhile, member states of the Human Rights Council continue their call for Jamaica
to repeal the buggery law and legalise same sex marriage. Justice Minister Mark Golding,
made the disclosure on Friday during his presentation to the Senate on the recent Human
Rights Council meeting in Geneva. Golding said some council members view Jamaica's
laws as being discriminatory to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
Meanwhile, an official with the US Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica has apologized to the
Government of Jamaica for what he described as a diplomatic faux-pas and miscommunication regarding the recent visit to the island of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender
(LGBT) Special Envoy Randy Berry and LGBT USAID Coordinator Todd Larson.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts:
hairman of the board of governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), Dr Timothy Harris, prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has suggested that Caribbean countries
should take a fresh look at a more integrated approach to tackling the regions development
challenges.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 45th annual meeting of the board of governors
of the CDB, he proposed what he called an integrated regional approach to the production and
distribution of alternative energy, be it blue or green energy.
Wouldnt it be a game changer if the Caribbean assumed leadership in alternative energy
export? That would have enormous implication for the cost of doing business and development
in the region? A leadership role here will do wonders for our competitiveness. Imagine a new
OECS space with St Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, and Grenada, leading in geothermal energy
for the sub-region, Puerto Rico, the French overseas territories and southern islands, Harris
said.

est in the business In recent years, Serena Williams has been the undisputed force
in women's tennis. The American has won an incredible 19 grand slam titles and is
looking to triumph at the French Open for a third time. But what is it that sets Serena apart
from her rivals?
Ahead of this year's French Open in Paris, CNN sat down with Patrick Mouratoglou
-- who began coaching Williams in 2012. Their trophy tally since teaming up includes a
Wimbledon title, an Olympic gold medal, three U.S. Open titles, a Roland Garros title
and an Australian crown, lifting her back up to the pinnacle of the women's game
Mouratoglou outlines the main reasons for her dominance of the game. First reason, I
would say, is the ability to win, which means she refuses to lose; says Mouratoglou of the
star who first turned pro 20 years ago. Shes an unbelievable competitor. Williams first
grand slam title came at the 1999 U.S. Open, where she defeated Martina Hingis in the
final.
Serena Williams is the world's No. 1 women's tennis.

Nearly two years ago, Moody threw out a 2011 conviction
