The importance of Africa and Asia to Mexico

Mexico's relationship with these two regions is vital for the future of the country in the field of
development of new opportunities not only based on the relations with the north of the
continent, these two regions are and will be the "focus" world.
The ideas of a Asian ascendancy are not current, in 1903 President Roosevelt "The Atlantic
era is now at the height of ITS development and must soon exhaust the resources at its
command. The Pacific was destined to be the greatest of all, is just at its dawn 1 Despite the
current global economic structure has been shaped under the interests of the advanced
economies. However this same economic order has meant that emerging economies have a
much larger role in global economic policy instead
However, while this is the region of Asia, the future is in the region of Africa, experts say that
this region is experiencing a similar preceded the emergence of the Asian economy in the 80
process, however no economies will have to guide the rest of the region, and still find that the
fastest growing country in the world is Nigeria, with growth rates in the region of up to 7%.
Mexico's relations with these regions dating from the late nineteenth century, citing the
country's determination to processes of decolonization suffered in the sixties, this allowed the
birth of diplomatic relations with recent independent states.
Thus, the Mexican government tries to seize all opportunities that arise in this region, political,
economic, and regional, bilateral or multilateral cooperation. Proof of this is to negotiate the
inclusion in the TPP.
Both regions represent broad possibilities for cooperation, placing on the map to Africa with 54
countries and a population of 1,035,000 inhabitants, with an area under the Asian continent,
and containing about 30% of mineral reserves in the world is not definitely a market which
should have some interest in growth. And the progress that has suffered this continent in terms
of governance, makes negotiations much easier, however persists in the presence of armed
conflicts in some areas.

An important part to note is that Mexico has experiences to share with economies that do not
have much time to be independent as mentioned above. Thus, for example, Mexico has
shared their experiences in social development, poverty alleviation, electoral matters, so as to
promote a closer relationship with African countries.
Mexico has interests in relations with the Asian bloc, exchanges in education and technology,
not only in trade. To carry out these objectives our country seeks to strengthen ties with the
affine region to consolidate an economic, trade and cultural cooperation with mutual benefits.
This with actions such as the implementation of new diplomatic missions in key countries in the
region. As a result of these diplomatic relations have the integration of countries of our
continent with countries in these two continents, and we see it in the G-15, G-77 and G-24.
"These Renewed contacts of LAC with Africa are the result of political decisions by country
clubs: such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Strengthen bilateral and bi-regional relations. Brazil and
Cuba Appear to be the country clubs With stronger ties With The African continent 2 this leads
to a much greater effort on the part of our country, to strengthen the levels of both regional and
international cooperation, to not fall behind in shaping economies future, and the fate of world
trade.
In Asia, Mexico has actively participated in APEC meetings, since joining in 1993, this being
the most important forum for the Asia Pacific region, as well as participation Cooperation
Forum Latin America - East Asia and advice Pacific Economic Cooperation.
The African continent accounts for 4.04% of global GDP where its main economies are South
Africa with a contribution of 0.7%, 0.67% Egypt and Nigeria with 0.51% while Mexico provides
2.11%, and the Asian continent contributes a quarter of the World GDP therefore have to
strengthen relationships with key mainly these continents nations.
Within the areas of opportunity are energy, agriculture, environment, culture and education,
science and technology, tourism and transport, and health. In conclusion, Asia, Middle East
and Africa have such importance that the advanced Economies are turning to them, and that
