PASSAGE-2
The universe of ours is full of mysteries and
in this mystery the rotation of earth along
with its revolution around the sun is no more
a mystery. But along with the rotation and
revolution of the earth, the same activity of
other planets and satellites is still a matter
of great research and adventure. Among the
natural satellites, the study of moon is always
a subject of great interest. The moon orbits
(travels in a circle around) the earth and the
moon called gravity. Because of gravity, larger
objects naturally pull smaller ones toward
themselves. Since the earth is larger than
the moon, the earth pulls the moon. At the
same time, the earth is being pulled by the
sun, because the sun is larger than the earth.
The balance between these two pulls is what
keeps the moon in orbit around the earth.
Although you hear people all the time saying
the moon was shining, the moon does not
actually have any light of its own. What we
seen as its light is really the suns light reflecting off of the moons surface. As the moon
orbits the earth and the earth orbits the sun,
we see different amounts of lights reflecting
on the moon depending on its position. We call
the changes in the moons appearance lunar
phases. From one new moon to the next new
moon is one complete lunar cycle.
It takes the moon between 27 and 28 days to
completely the orbit around the earth. The
moons orbit is measured from one new moon
to the next new moon, starting in the west
and moving counter-clockwise toward the
east. To complete one full orbit, the moon has
to travel about 1,423,000 miles. Believe it or
not, the moon travels at an average speed of
2,288 miles per hour! The force of gravity
helps keep us grounded as the moon rotates
around us, and we spin and rotate around the
sun.
10. Which two spheres are being pulled by
the force of gravity?
(a) The earth and the sun

PASSAGE-3
Why is it that in every other sector India is in
par with global standards but not in sports?
The answer is both simple and complex. It is
only after the power hungry individuals use
their might to grab the hot seat that they become aware of the enormity of the position
and demands come aware of the enormity of
the position and demands associated with it.
Though it presents them with an opportunity
to do same credible work and earn some much
needed goodwill points yet very soon the realization sets in that like any other product or
service administrating and marketing sports
is not a lets-catch-up-over-coffee session but
a task requiring full time commitment for
which they are clearly short on either time or
skills or both. They also realize that handling
players is a far more challenging man-management exercise than the truckload of supporters who are ferried into big cities from
small towns for innumerable rallies at the cost
of a days meal and some country liquor. The
ego and the greed of these honorary members
disallows them to own up to their incapaci-

I am normally said to be free to the degree to

simply the area within which a man can act
unobstructed by others. If I am prevented by

otherwise do, I am to that degree unfree; and
if this area is contracted by other men beyond
a certain minimum, can be described by other

it would be eccentric to say that I am to that

The ultimate aim of criminal law is protection of right to personal liberty against invasion by others protection of the weak against
the strong law abiding against lawless, peaceful against the violent. To protect the rights
of the citizens, the state prescribes the rules
of conduct, sanctions for their violation, machinery to enforce sanctions, and procedure
to protect that machinery. It is utter selfishness, greed, and intolerance that lead to deprivation of life, liberty, and property of other
citizens requiring the State to step in for protection to persons against lawlessness, disorderly behavior, violent acts, and fraudulent
deeds of others. Liberty cannot exist without
protection of the basic rights of the citizens
by the Government.
The well-recognized fundamental principles
of criminal jurisprudence are presumption
of innocence and right to silence of the accused, presumption of innocence and right

At the outset of an inquiry, how far existing
facts ought to be allowed to overrule ideas and
principles that are at variance with them, a
preliminary question lies in our way, about
which it may be well to say something. This
is the question of a dual doctrine. In plainer
words, the question whether it is expedient
that the more enlightened classes in a community should upon system not only possess
their light in silence, but whether they should
openly encourage a doctrine for the less enlightened classes which they do not believe
to be true for themselves, while they regard
it as indispensably useful in the case of less
fortunate people. An eminent teacher tells us

Nuremberg Tribunal sentenced 12 defendants
to death and five defendants to long sentences
of imprisonment. The Tokyo Tribunal sentenced. For some, the purpose of these trials
was to demonstrate that the allies were better than the fascists and to serve an educational purpose. However, the trials can also
be seen in other ways. From one perspective,
they represented victors justice: war crimes
which may have been committed by the allies were beyond the jurisdiction of the tribunals, and the charges of crimes against peace
and crimes against humanity seemed to rest
on rather uncertain legal ground. From another perspective, the Nuremberg judgment
initiated a new way of thinking about international law and its impact on the individual.
The defendants were seen as having violated
the international law of war, a law that could
be gleaned from general principles of justice
applied by military courts.
