Bilse rolds
Base folds are basic forms that do nO[ in themselves p roduce origami, but serve as a basis,
or jumping-oIT po int, for a number o f creative origami figures, some quite com plex. As
when beginn ing other crafrs, learn ing to fold th ese base folds is not the most exciting part
of origami. They are, however, easy to do, and will help you wi th you r techn ique. They
also quickly become rote, so much so that you can do many using different-colored papers
while you are watching television or you r min d is elsewhere. With co mpleted base folds
handy, if you want w qu ickly wo rk u p a fo rm or are s ud denly inspired with an idea for
an Origi nal, u nique figure, you can select an app ropria le base fold and sw irrly bring a new
creation to life.
