Progressive career with the Spare Parts Manufacturing Company, one of South Africa’s leading
private engineering companies established in 1951. We have taken pride in creating a reputation as a
highly respected and successful organisation within the general and precision engineering field.

Spare Parts Manufacturing produces a variety of products including “one off” designs for single
manufactured items, or spares to the manufacturing of special purpose machinery.

This operation includes the machining, fabrication and assembling of all the required components.

All of our work is handled with pride and the end result is inspected by our stringent Quality Control
Department. This has been recognized with accreditation in 1995 by Lloyds Register Quality
Assurance as complying with ISO 9002.

Client required a new press to double their export production.

Project details  Supervised 50 staff for duration of project – 5 months


 Managed entire scope of project from ordering all steel and consumables,
to fabrication, installation and commissioning.

Scope of Work  Custom built a pre-cure press to meet demand for retread tyres for the
export market.
 The press weighed 100 tons and measured 11m in length.
