Office Operations and Human Resources


Managed overall operations in non-profit and for-profit organizations, including facilities, internal office
communication, invoice coding, timesheet submission and interdepartmental relationships. Developed and
monitored department financials of $400,000+. Coordinated variety of financial functions, including annual
department budgeting, fiscal controls, payables and purchases. Reduced office expenses by 25% at Bickerdike
Redevelopment Corporation (BRC) via vendor re-negotiation, contract review and cost control measures.
Implemented Hill and Knowlton/San Francisco office move. Supervised diverse teams, including administration,
facilities, IT and grant writers.
Coordinated human resources functions, including recruiting, performance reviews, terminations, employee
relations, new employee orientations, benefits administration and compensation. Developed and/or updated
personnel policies and office procedures. At iostudio, grew overall staff numbers 150% (from 65 to
approximately 150 in two years with one- or two-person department). Maintained a successful organizational
culture that facilitated strong retention. Professionally managed 97-person reduction in force.

Marketing & Promotions


Maintained the membership recruitment program for BRC and planned programs for community members.
Responsible for production of variety of marketing materials, including program brochures, annual reports,
posters, event invitations and other collateral. Collaborated with internal and external designers on various
projects, including an internal marketing program for ioUniversitys relaunch (emails, posters and LMS users
guides).

Strategic Planning and Policies


With executive management, oversaw departmental short and long-range planning at BRC. Developed strategic
plans and overall organizational planning, including SWOT, staffing and program needs, space planning and
staff skill review. Collaborated with internal departments to create and implement specific goals based on the
Wildly Important Goals concept. Modified operational polices regarding expense reports, timesheets, dress
code and overall employee guidelines.

Employee and Volunteer Training


Co-created and implemented internal employee training program, ioUniversity, including two-day onboarding
course covering company processes, leadership courses for management and soft skill enhancement for all
employees. Acted as liaison to BRCs Strategic Planning committee, iostudio Advisory Board and other
volunteer committees. Worked closely with Board members and created Board meeting packets. Conducted
sections of new Board member training. Trained volunteers on seeking contributions and event logistics.

Special Events and Development


Created and managed event budgets, surpassing previous bottom lines and ensuring profit. Planned and
implemented events, including membership meetings, educational programs, graduate school reunions,
management retreats, sporting events, holiday celebrations and a two-day annual training conference for iostudio
call center employees. Oversaw $450,000 fundraising plan, with total budget of $1.4 million annually. Wrote
grants, funding reports, and membership recruitment and retention correspondence.
