If you replace or reformat your computer's hard drive, you may need to reactivat
e the software. If you want to install the software on a different computer, you
first need to transfer the activation to it from the first machine.
To activate Illustrator:
1 -- Start Illustrator.
2 -- The first Activation dialog box appears. Do one of the following:
If you want to activate Illustrator over the Internet and you have an active
Internet connection, click Activate to complete the activation.
If you want to activate by phone or at a later time, click Activation Option
s.
3 -- If you clicked Activation Options, click Next in the Activation Information
dialog box, and then select one of the following activation options:
Select Over The Internet, and then click Activate to complete the activation
.
Select By Telephone Via The Automated Software Activation System, and then c
lick Next. Call the phone number that appears on-screen to contact Adobe Custome
r Service. Enter the authorization code they provide, and then click Activate.
Select Remind Me if you want to delay the activation. Choose a reminder opti
on from the pop-up menu, and then click Next.
If you need help activating the software, please contact Adobe Customer Service.
To transfer the activation to a different computer:
After you transfer the activation and uninstall the software, you can install an
d reactivate the software on the new computer.
Note: Be sure to transfer the activation before you uninstall the software, unle
ss you intend to reinstall the software on the same computer.
1 -- Connect to the Internet from your computer.
2 -- Start Illustrator, and choose Help > Transfer Activation.
3 -- Follow the on-screen instructions.
