Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) the Sector Skill


Council on Agriculture, is an Industry led body registered
as section 25 company under the Companies Act and
functioning under the aegis of National Skill Development
Corporation (NSDC) with a vision to develop the Skills in
Indian Agriculture, as per the global standards, with the
support of Industry Partners.
ASCI is working towards building the Capacity around the
Agriculture Industry and bridge the gap between
laboratories to farm and targeting to touch/upgrade skills
of millions of Students, Cultivators, Agricultural Labourers,
direct and Indirect workforce engaged in Organized and
Unorganized Agriculture Industry viz, Farm Inputs,
Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehousing / Logistics etc.
and to create a human resource pool of the right size and
quality in Agriculture Sector.

An alumnus of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and


Institute of Rural Management , Anand (IRMA) is a Senior
management professional of proven capability with 24 years of
experience in Category Management, Food and Agri Supply
Chain, International Business, New Business Development and
Vendor Management functional areas. He has handled
multifarious responsibilities with leading MNCs and Indian
Corporates and have extensive and in depth expertise in
business strategy and planning, financial budgeting and
successful implementation of challenging projects. He has done
Business development across geographies, business divisions
and strategic projects and has an ability to deal with diverse and
global cultural environments.

He was instrumental in getting Industry and other Stakeholders


support across various segments of Agriculture Sector and all
due diligence done through his strenetous efforts before SSC got
approved.

Affiliations

Prior to joining Agriculture Sector Skill Council , had pan-India


exposure in handling Staples, Dairy and F&V business and in
establishing supply chain of fruits and vegetables. Has also got
operational exposure to exports of Agro-chemicals and Bulk
drugs to Europe, Middle East and Asian countries. In depth
understanding of operational intricacies while working in / with
Chinese companies. His prior experience include working with
National Skills Foundation of India, , Reliance Retail , SINOCHEM ,
Grasim Industries Ltd and NDDB.
