Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program

Ministry of Science and Technology, Republic of China (Taiwan)

Introduction
The Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program, sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology, is
intended to subsidize Taiwanese postdoctoral researchers to conduct research at an accredited
educational institute abroad. The goal of this program is to encourage qualified individuals to
gain research experience overseas, develop their global perspective and strengthen international
collaborations for a maximum of two years.

Eligibility

The applicant must be a citizen of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The applicant must hold a bachelors degree and a Ph.D. degree, and awarded by accredited
educational institutes in Taiwan. His/her Ph.D. degree shall be received within the recent
five years.

Award

Each successful grant recipient will receive 1,300,000 NT dollars (about 44,900 US dollars)
each year for a maximum of two years.

The grant period starts on the following date which comes the later: 1. the date for the grand
recipient to arrive at the host institute, or 2. the date to complete signing of the binding
contract.

No institutes and advisors will receive any subsidies from the Ministry of Science and
Technology.

During the recipients stay, all office space and related equipment for research shall be
provided by the host institutes or advisors.
