Job Responsibility: Pre-collegiate biomedical lab researcher (unpaid internship) at the William & Iffath Hoskins
Center for Biomedical Research in Savannah, GA, in affiliation with Mercer University School of Medicine.
Student has been conducting studies for the past 4 years into the field of Alzheimers Disease, current
treatments, and novel and effective methods for treatment and prevention of Alzheimers Disease and other
age-related neurological disorders.
Job Responsibility: Day Surgery volunteer at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. As
a volunteer, assisted patients, doctors, nurses, and the families of patients in managing classified information
and the flow of surgery progression, to make patient and family experiences as smooth as possible and to
make doctors and nurses work as effective as possible.

On a need/ask basis, the student assisted peers at Eastside High School in classes such as Chemistry,
Biology, Pre-Calculus/Calculus and US History outside of school time.

Student founded a science tutoring/science fair mentoring program at Howard Bishop Middle School in
which struggling students in the classes of Earth & Planetary Science, Life Science, and Physical
Science were assisted on a weekly basis, as well as a Science Fair mentoring aspect for assisting
students (as science fair is required for those in the Academy program at Howard Bishop Middle
School) in finding ideas, preparing for presentations, making presentation board, and performing
experiments.
MATHCOUNTS Coach
Student coached middle schoolers in the middle school math competition, MATHCOUNTS, by
preparing practice problem sets, covering old tests, as well as teaching concepts taught on the tests.
Founder, President, and Captain, Robotics Club/FIRST Team

President of Robotics club. Took independent passion for robotics, electrical engineering, and computer
science, and founded and organized a FIRST Robotics team (with sponsors, engineers, and began fundraising
for the 2015 competition season).

other such fairs.

While attending Howard Bishop Middle School, competed in MATHCOUNTS, a middle school math
competition, winning awards at the regional and state level.

After leaving Howard Bishop Middle School and beginning high school, continued involvement with the
MATHCOUNTS chapter at Howard Bishop by preparing practice problem sets, instructing students
through tests, and teaching new concepts.

As a senator for student government, the student fundraised for school events and needs, participated in
Homecoming and Prom Committees, and helped out at events such as Freshman Orientation, Open House,
and other school related events.
Participant, United States Biology Olympiad (USABO)
Participated in the United States Biology Olympiad competition, making the semifinalist cutoff in 2013.
Member, National Honor Society
Participated in service events to the school, including tutoring, fundraisers for various school events, as well as
helping out in the community.
Team Leader, Florida Young Astronaut Challenge
Initiated a team to participate in the Florida Young Astronaut Challenge, preparing study sessions and material
to prepare for the comprehensive test in October, covering astrophysics and aerospace history.
Robotics/Android App Design
2014-Present
Interested in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, developed ever stronger interest, following taking
AP Computer Science A (taught in Java) as a zero period, after which began studying app design for Android
operating systems. Later undertook robotics and learned Python.
Projects:
o
Robotic rover based upon Raspberry Pi and Arduino, equipped with motion detection, cameras,
and variety of environmental sensors. Designed to mimic Mars Curiosity Rover on much smaller
level.
PDA Style Day Planner with wifi-enabled cloud based microcontroller. Objective is to entirely
sync with Google Calendar and provide a pocket sized device (touchscreen) to update a person
on their schedule.
