POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of the Security and Emergency Management Specialist position is to provide
strategic security and emergency management advice, document processes and assist with
resolving emergency management and security concerns, to ensure Powerlink is prepared
for and able to effectively and efficiently respond to any of the wide range of hazards that
may disrupt its operations.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications
Essential
Degree level qualifications in a field relevant to emergency management, business
continuity management or security management, or lesser qualification/s coupled
with demonstrated experience applicable to emergency management and/or security.
Desirable

Well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to liaise with a
range of stakeholders across all levels (internally and externally)
Able to manage and shift priorities as required, and incorporate new approaches to
adapt to changing business needs.
The ability to research, analyse and evaluate issues in order to effectively respond to
and resolve problems. Identify options, select the best approach and implement
actions that overcome problems.
