Nu Flow Mexico Rehabilitates Drain Lines At Historical University
IVANCOT is a Mexican construction company that subcontracted Nu Flow Mexico to rehabilitate drain lines at the University of Mexico. The building is historical therefore a lot of extra work would have had to been done to install new pipes. Nu Flow was able to complete the job without any hassle for the customer. Customer: IVANCOT is a construction company located just outside of Mexico City. They work on residential, industrial, corporate, sports and educational buildings. IVANCOT was contracted to work at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). UNAM was founded in 1551 and is the largest university in Mexico. Site: The building was constructed in 1547 and is home to the University of Mexico. This historical building located in the heart of Mexico City is now on its way to becoming a museum. System: The system is made up of concrete rain and sanitary lines 6 in diameter. They are connected to the municipal system and have had fractures and several repairs with PVC. Situation: Repairs that were previously done to the lines were causing problems with the discharge system of the building. Since it is a historical site, there is a lot of work involved if they wanted to dig and install new pipes. It would have cost a lot of money and an archeologist would have had to supervise all of the work that was being done. An archeologist is necessary because this part of Mexico is a historical place where Aztecs built pyramids 500 years ago, so if the ground was to be dug someone may potentially find museum material. They needed a solution that would save time, money and avoid disruption.
It is very rewarding to help with
technology to complete rehabilitation jobs on historical places like this old building.
Solution: IVANCOT subcontracted Nu Flow Mexico to
- Eduardo Nuez, Owner RAESA rehabilitate the drain lines. Nu Flow used a sewer cleaning (Nu Flow Mexico) truck to remove all the waste and rocks inside the pipe. After that they inspected the pipe to identify any leaks, fractures and repairs with different materials. Once the pipe was completely clean they used Nu Drain technology to line 66feet of the pipes. One of the access points was 32-feet deep, which made the installation process very challenging. Nu Flow Mexico was able to fix drain lines with digging and saved the customer a lot of trouble. About Nu Drain: Nu Flows Nu Drain CIPP restoration is a non-invasive procedure that uses epoxy inside a liner to create a new pipe inside deteriorated host piping systems and can span missing sections of pipe.
