14 THINGS THAT GOD CAN NEVER DO

Written by Oyelakin Gbolahan

You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. John
8:32
It is fantastic to discover amazing truth about God from His words. The
Word of God contains several divine principles on how we can perfectly
walk with God and fulfil purpose on earth. Biblical principles are
fundamental truths which are intended to serve as the basis for our daily
actions, relationship with God as well as other men on earth. They are set
of instructions, laws, commands or ordinances aim at guiding us to
achieve a particular set goal or purpose.
This piece is centred on certain divine principles from the Bible in order
to enhance a fruitful and successful relationship with God. One of the
secrets of successful relationship is getting to know the nature, characters
or attributes of the other party in the relationship. Then, relate with the
person based on that. We can only know God as He has revealed to us by
His Spirit in the written words (Bible).
Here are some things the Lord can never do:
1. God can never lie or deceive: Isaiah 45:23; 55:8-11; Hebrews
6:15-18; Numbers 23:19.
As the Lord said it, He will surely do it. He will surely do exactly
whatever He says without fail. What promises or covenants has He
made or given you concerning your life, family, business, career,
etc? He will surely fulfil all at His appointed time. Only two things
can make Him deny you of them: (i.) Sin When we sin, we feel
self-confident and self-independent of God; that He cant do as He
says, so you try and help yourself. 1 John 1:10. (ii.) Disbelieve and
Doubt When you disbelieve God, you make Him a liar. 1 John 5:10.
It is the devil that lies and he is the father of all liars. John 8:44;
Psalms 89:35; Habakkuk 2:3; Titus 1:2; Romans 3:4. He can never
deceive us because He is the TRUTH. John 14:6a. What is it that He
has promised you that it now seems as if He will not fulfil or
manifest it? Just wait patiently; He will surely come through for you.
2. He can never hate (His creations):
After He created all things;
He appreciated what He did because it was perfect. Genesis 1:31.
He never condemned, even after man sinned and sin came into the
world; He never hated man, but despised his sin. This is because He
loves us so much with an everlasting love. So much that He gave
His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for us. His love is
everlasting. In fact, He is Love personified, that is, God Himself is a
Perfect Love. Therefore, there is no place for hate in Him. Psalms
100:5; 1 John 4:8; Jeremiah 31:3. The plan of God not to ever hate

His creation was accomplished when He released Jesus Christ to us.

He has placed His image and glory on us so that whenever He sees
Him in us He will never hate us. It is a constant, consistent attitude
of God to love. This is an absolute statement. The love of God is
AGAPEO, meaning boundless, immeasurable, divine, timeless,
transcendent, and supernatural, beyond human imagination or
knowledge and explanation...
He can never forget you nor forsake you: Isaiah 29:14-16. God
can never abandon you nor neglect you. He will never leave you to
be on your own. He is always with you, before you, on you and all
about you; for He knows that without Him you can do nothing. In
Him we live, move and find our being. John 15:5; Acts 17:28.
God can never steal, kill or destroy:
John 10:10-11; Genesis
8:20:22. He has come to give us abundant life so that we may live
forever with Him. He has promised never to destroy the earth giving
us rainbow in the sky as a symbol of His covenant. He loves us so
much that He is always full of grace and mercies. 2 Peter 9. He
never wanted any man to perish, but that all men may to
repentance and be saved. God owns all things so He cant steal
what belongs to Him. Psalms 24.
God can never be unjust or unfair:
He doesnt indulge in
injustice. He rewards us duly according to His tender mercies and
allows His mercy to always prevail over judgement. Hebrews 6:10;
James 2:13. He cant allow anyone that labours in love with Him to
go unrewarded. But, His rewards come in due season/time. He is a
righteous God that is why He is just. He will always do what is right.
2 Thess. 1:3-10.
God can never withhold any good thing from us: He desires
that we should all fulfil the purpose of our creation. He commended
that all were good after He created things on earth; and till now, He
is still commending His works that they are good. All that we need
to fulfil purpose as His chosen creation be it His Holy Spirit, His
love, prosperity, wisdom, favour, etc; He will bless us with them in
goodness. Psalms 84:11; 2 Peter 1:3; Romans 8:32. If He didnt
withhold His beloved Son - Jesus Christ, He will freely give us all
things that we need for life and godliness. For we are Gods
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God
prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10. For us to fulfil this
purpose, we need to be equipped with His goodness. That is why He
can never withhold His goodness from us. Psalms 23:6.
God can never behold sins, neither can He commit sin:
He
hates sin with a passion. Isaiah 59:2; Proverbs 6:16-19. He loves
sinners and always wishes they repent and not perish, but their sins
He always loathe and will never approve. Even, He could not behold
Jesus while He bore the sins of the whole creation on the Cross of
Calvary. Whatever may be the sins in our lives, we need to

acknowledged them now and confess them for Him to save us. 1
John 1:8-10. God can never commit sin; consequently, whoever is
born of Him cannot practice because His seed lives in Him. 1 John
3:6-10.
8. God can never share His glory with anyone or anything:
He
rejected the devil and sent him out of His Presence in Heaven
because of this issue. He wanted to share in Gods glory via pride.
Ezekiel 28:1-19. Even, Nebuchadnezzar and Herod were not spared
of His wrath when they wanted to take His glory. He quickly
consumed them. Acts 12:18-23; Daniel 5:18-30.
9. God can never turn away anyone that comes to Him: He has
given all men an invitation to come to Him for regeneration and rest
and whosoever answers the call will never be despised. Matthew
11:28-29. Likewise, anyone that diligently seeks Him in faith will not
be despised. Hebrews 11:6. More so, He is the One who extends
invitation to come to Him to all mankind.
10.
He can never make mistake: He is a perfect God and all He
does is always perfect. Matthew 5:48. Psalms 139:14. Thats why
every good and perfect gift comes from Him. James 1:17.
11.
He can never show favouritism: He does not pervert
justice. He judges everyone by the same standard as He equally
loves all men. He only shows mercy and compassion to whom He
chooses. Hebrew 9:15, Exodus 33:19; James 2:1-13; Romans 2:11;
Acts 10:34-35.
12.
God can never tempt anyone: There is no temptation
which comes from God for He cannot be tempted by evil and He
himself can never tempt anyone. Rather, people are tempted when
they are drawn away (from Him) and trapped by their own evil
(selfish, lustful) desires. Then, their evil desires conceive and give
birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. James
1:13-15.
13.
God can never change: There is nothing in Heaven or on
earth that can change God. Malachi 3:6; Numbers 23:19. God will
forever be even when everything other things seizes to be. This is
because He alone has the ability of self-existence. He is immutable.
Therefore, He can never change His plans, promises and covenants.
Hebrews 4:17-18; Isaiah 45:23. He can never change His mind. He is
the Unchangeable Changer and Immovable Mover. He is always
settled as much as His words are irrevocable. It is only an
unchangeable Person that can give an unchangeable promise or
speak an unchangeable word. Hebrews 6:18 (MSG).
14.
God can never seize to exist: He has never seizes to exist;
even just for an eye blink. This is because He is timeless. He is
Spirit. John 4:24a. He has always been before the beginning began
and will continue to be after the end of all things. He remains the
same forever. Hebrews 13:8. If Jesus Christ is ever the same and He

came from God; it goes that the God who sent Him is also ever the
same and changes not. This is one of the features of the deity of
God which Jesus Christ possesses. Now, Jesus still exists at the right
hand of God and will soon return to the earth to rapture the Saints.
Eph. 1:20; Mark 16:19.
When we understand these few attributes of God among others, we will
find it so lovely and enjoyable to relate with God and be blessed.
May the Lord help us to know Him just as He is and give us the grace to
comprehend in obedience all that He says He is.
