CHAPTER1

THEVOCATIONRECOLLECTION,GUIDELINESANDDYNAMICS

A. RATIONALE

CFC Youth for Christ (YFC) is a young community of believers, a ministry of

CouplesforChrist,filledwiththevibrancyandtheconvictionoftheSpirit,eagertobe
sent to do one thing spread the love of Christ. One of the basic things we want to
inculcateintheheartsoftheyoungisappreciatingtheuniquenessthatGodhasgiven
them,realizinghowspecialtheyare,andbringingthemtoastateofansweringthecall
thatGodhasforthem.

Duringouryoungeryears,alotofpeoplewouldoftenaskedthequestionWhat
do you want to be when you grow up? Some would say they wanted to become a
Doctor,aTeacher,anEngineer,aPoliceorBusinessman.

Consequently,aswegrowold,welearnandexperiencealotofthingsinlife,we
discover a lot about ourselves and the environment we are in. Our answer to the
previousquestionmaybethesameormaybedifferent,butforsome,itisaquestion
thatremainsunanswered.

From that simple question, more questions became deeper and more
meaningfulaswegrowolder.Now,weanswerquestionslikewhatcoursetotakeon
college?, what profession to pursue? even questions like what is Gods plan for
me?,whatismypurposeinlife?,whatismycalling?

The word calling has become vague for many young people. Vocation or
Callinghasalwaysbeenassociatedonlytobecomingapriestornun.Butinrealitywe
have different vocations to become a priest, a nun, a single person for the Lord or a
marriedperson.

B. OVERVIEW

ThisVocationRecollectionisanactivityintendedforYFCmemberstobeaware

unique and special in Gods eyes is our individual identity in Him. God made us for a

II. WEARESPECIALLYMADEFORAPURPOSE

We were made unique because we are created for a specific purpose. Our
ultimate and common purpose is to give glory to God but how we will manifest or
