A- COTTON PRODUCTION REVIEW OF 2014-15:
Table-1: Province-wise Cotton Area & Production Targets during
the Year 2014-15:
The Federal Committee on Cotton (FCC) in its 3rd meeting held on 27 th Feb
2014, in consultation with the Provincial Agricultural Departments and
other stakeholders fixed the cotton area and production targets for 201415 at 3.128 million hectares and 15.102 million bales, respectively.
Province wise breakup is shown in the table below.

Lint Yield Production during 2014-15 in Pakistan:
During the last season, area planted was 6.52% short of the target, Lint
production was 10.62% short of the target while average productivity
increased by 4.27% which was to increased potential of the current set of
released varieties and a major contribution of the national cotton research
system as well.

Table-5: Review of Area Sown during 2014-15:


According to the final estimate of cotton crop during 2014-15 season,
cotton crop was sown on an area of 2.924million hectares after minor
flood damages which is 6.53% less than the target area of 3.128 million
hectares but 4.22% more than the area planted under cotton last year
(2013-14). Detail is as under;

Table-6: Review of Cotton Production during 2014-15:
According to the final estimate of cotton crop during 2014-15 season,
cotton crop production was 13.498 million bales after minor flood
damages which is 10.62% less than the target production of 15.102
million bales but 5.71% more than total production of last year (2013-14).

According to the final estimate of cotton crop during 2014-15 season,
average lint production was 785 kg/hac which is 1.6% less than the target
average yield of 821 kg/ha and 13% more than the average production of
last year (2013-14). Detail is as under;
