2. PRIOR INTO RNP 10


(a) ON PROGRESS PAGE COMPARE FMS1 TO FMS2.
(b) CHECK NAVIGATION ACCURACY WITH NAVAID ROW
DATA.
(c) AT LEAST 2 ( TWO ) LONG RANGE NAVIGATION
EQUIPMENT, i.e : 1 (one) FMC plus at least 2 (two)
long range sensors, e.g. 2 (two) IRU, or 2 (two) GPS,
or 1 (one) IRU/1 (one) GPS.
Validation of FMS Position Using DME :

ON TRACK
(VOR)/DME (name) 1(RAD1..0) DME 1 NM
2(RAD 2.0) DME 2. NM

Cross check periodically FMS position with radio


navaid raw data. If one of the following CDU message
is displayed :
- FMC POSITION MISMATCH
- VERIFY A/C POSITION
Check navigation accuracy with navaid raw data as
described in point 2 (b).
If accuracy check confirms that RNP-10 capability is
lost or if both FMS are failed : inform ATC and revert
to conventional navigation.
If accuracy check confirms that only one FMS position
is concerned, resume navigation with the other FMS.
Note : Time limit of SPERY FMS system for RNP-10
operations in I mode is 5.7 hours
measured from last end of R/I mode or 6.2
hours since last IRS ground alignment.
FMS POSITION MISMATCH Message is
triggered on CDU automatically, when the
difference between FMS 1 and FMS 2 is
greater than 5 NM.

4. IN - FLIGHT CONTIGENCIES
Notify ATC of contingencies ( Equipment Failure,
Weather Conditions ) which affect ability to maintain
navigation accuracy and obtain a revised ATC
Clearance. If unable to notify ATC, please follows
established contingency procedures as defined by the
region of operation and obtain ATC clearance as soon
as possible.
