areas and certain cities feature large indoor or outdoor playgrounds.
Staff are exceptional , friendly, informed and they all seem to love working here. The restaurant has been open
for 3 days when we were here and it is really well done. The chairs are some of the most comfortable I have
used, the food , wine was really good and well priced. Breakfast is included in the price and it is excellant, great
variety and even champaign if you chose. The breakfast is great, offering a wide variety. Fresh breads, jams,
teas, cereals, juices, eggs, bacon, sausages etc.. Free WIFI and computer access.
This hotel has been open about 8 months after being built over a 2 year period by the owners who wanted to do
it right - and they have done it right ! Beautiful room , new, modern and homey at the same time. Pillows,
Douvets, mattress, carpets are really done well and provide a great night sleep. Elevators are large, bright, clean
and quick. Staff are exceptional , friendly, informed and they all seem to love working here. Shower only in the
bright bathroom but the towels are huge and fluffy as they are new. The restaurant has been open for 3 days
when we were here and it is really well done. The chairs are some of the most comfortable I have used, the food
, wine was really good and well priced. While we were there, guests got 20% off food and drinks - Wow, it
made it very inexpensive. Breakfast is included in the price and it is excellent, great variety and even
champaign if you chose. We have been in Prague, Budapest, Dresden and Berlin in 4 star hotels this trip and
the Metropolitan is the best of any by a lot. Try it - You'll love it - we did.
We booked our trip through Escape2Poland - who were absolutely brilliant. On arrival at Hotel we were greeted
by a cheerful receptionsist and given a map of the area with restaurant recommendations for the Jewish Quarter
and Old town, the hotel is conveniently located. The whole superbly clean, bright and tastefully furnished On
arriving at our room were were impressed with the space and quality of the furnishings and facillities. The
bathroom was large with an overbath shower and underfloor heating! The bed was comfy that I never had a bad
nights sleep for the 3 nights we were there. Would recomend the hotel as a great base to tour Krokow.
This hotel is fab, recently renovated to a very high standard. Extremely clean throughout. Staff were friendly,
polite, maybe alittle formal but that's not a complaint. The breakfast was great, offering a wide variety. Fresh
breads, jams, teas, cereals, juices, eggs, bacon, sausages etc.. Free WIFI and computer access. You can book
tours at reception, they are responsibly priced and the bus picks you up from the hotel. The hotel is in walking
distance, 8minutes or so from the main square. Also near the Jewish quarter. Each room had air-con and
windows that open right open. It also had a huge king size bed which was extremely comfortable. The
bathroom had heated floor and a bath. Only down side was there was no handle rails in the bath and it was
difficult to get out of. I'd highly recommend this hotel. Only down side was they didn't do food apart from
breakfast but the bar area was lovely, well stocked and the bar man was friendly etc.. The "turn down" team
cam in each day. We also had a well stocked mini-bar with bottled water replaced every day, foc. They also had
a gym which we didn't avail of and they provided beauty treatments, massages and hairdressers. The hotel was
in a quiet area but close to everything. We couldn't have asked for better.
stayed at the metropolitan hotel for five nights recently, the hotel its self is very nice and spotlessly clean, its
situated down a side road more or less slap bang in the middle of the main road threw Krakow city, 10 mins
from the main square and 5 min to the jewish quarter. the buildings around the hotel are not as modern or well
kept but that's part of the charm. the hotel staff are very friendly especially the girls at the bar in the evening.
breakfast was brilliant, nice big selection of food to choose from , bacon , scrambled eggs, toast, choc
croissant , tea and orange juice hit the spot every morning, but theres also a hell of a lot other stuff to chose
from. you can more or less book all your taxis, tickets for trips out to local attractions etc,at the front desk, well
stocked mini bar and tea and coffee in the room, although staff forgot to replace the milk for tea and coffee a
couple of the nights, but will let them away with it,lol. theres also a shop 10m across the road from hotel which
is very handy ( 3ish for a bottle of vodka, mad). all in all the hotel was brilliant, it can only get better when
they have got there restaurant up and running, very impressed with with Poland on the hole, will defo visit
again

Head down Maestro from the plaza to reach this recent addition: a huge statue of Christ on a platform accessed
by a 200-step ascent flanked by terraced cactus gardens. Views from the top give super perspectives over town,
local couples canoodle secure at the feet of the saviour. There's a cafe, and a painfully slow funicular (AR$10)
for weary legs.
You can reach the monument by train or taxi. The trip to the statue takes you through a small rain forest. You
can ride escalators or climb 200 steps to reach the base of the statue. Except on smoggy days, the panoramic
view of Rio de Janeiro is unparalleled.
By day or night, no matter where you may go in the city of Rio, the statue has the presence of an icon.
A pretty amazing experience! Views from both hills are stunning, and you will probably spend more time than
you thought you would. The cable cars are operated very regularly, and even though we visited on a day when it
was not overly crowded, it was clear that they are very capable of dealing with big crowds.
On both hills combined there are a number of restaurants, snack bars, cafs, souvenir shops, and rest rooms, of
course. There is also a little interactive museum, the former two cable car generations on display, forest
walks oh, and you could charter a helicopter from here; flights starting at 240 R$ (~75 Euros)!
Verdict: A really great sight you shouldnt miss out on. There is a lot of space up there, so it can accommodate
a lot of people, without being cramped. You can still lean at the railing and feel a sense of peace and awe
overlooking Rio de Janeiro. All our four thumbs up!
Additional tip: back at the base, dont be too quick to rush off and back to the city again! Walk on over to the
small beach (Praia Vermelha), situated in a picturesque bay. There is also and very unexpectedly a statue of the
Polish composer Chopin! And if you want to see one of the worlds smallest monkeys in the wild, you can take
a stroll along the hill on a coastal walk; thats where they live and grace you with their presence if they feel like
it!
