Proposition: Resolved, that Bangsamoro Basic Law is the key to a peaceful Mindanao
Introduction:
I.

The historical conflict of territory is one of the most serious problem of people in
Mindanao
A. In the past, the Islamic Community said that they were the first settlers in
Mindanao and they claimed:
1. That the land of Mindanao is their ancestral land therefore, they are the
rightful owner.
2. That the Islamic community have the chance to enrich their culture by having
their own territory.
3. That an autonomous status will allow them to run their own state through the
help of the Philippine National Government.

Discussion:
I.

There is a necessity to submit the Bangsamoro Basic Law because:

A. The root cause of most conflict between the Philippine Government and the
Islamic troops is the issue about territory, thus
1. Submitting the Bangsamoro Basic law addresses the right of Bangsamoro
Government for fluvial, land and aerial domains which will still be considered
as part of the Philippines.
2. ARMM will be abolished however, the territory that is part of ARMM will
also be included as part of the Bangsamoro with a single state name to show
the unity of the newly made state that the Bangsamoro Basic law wants to
form.
3. The Bangsamoro Basic Law provides the right of the Islamic people to have
the right to use their natural resources freely and to develop their own
community within its territory.

B. The Bangsamoro Basic Law takes an autonomy to its territory for the reason that
it strengthens the power of the Bangsamoro people to establish and rule their new
Government, thus
1. The people in the territory specifically the Muslims will be able to run
their government without the dictation of the National Government.
2. Freedom will be practiced by our brothers and sisters in the territories
covered by the Bangsamoro Basic Law that will enable them to practice
their beliefs without external influences and enrich their culture through
sharing different tribes that Muslims have.
3. By submitting the Bangsamoro Basic Law, the Government holding it will
be able to establish their own economy for the equal distribution among
the constituents.

Conclusion:
I.

The discussion proved its case by establishing the following:

A. Then we therefore maintain that Basic Bangsamoro Law is the key to a
peaceful Mindanao because:
1. It draws out clear boundaries for the territories rightfully owned by the
Bangsamoro Government.
2. It promotes peace and equality among covered constituents for the
submission of the Bangsamoro Basic Law which gives them the longawaited authority for their people and establishes an autonomous power
without external influences to the National Government.
3. It establishes full authority for the equality of economic status in the
Bangsamoro Government.
