Liketwospeedingtrainsheadingtowardthesamecollapsedbridge,thedangersandfailuresof
BarackObamasforeign,economic,andsocialpoliciesareheadingrapidlytowardimplosion.Our
vitalsecurityinterests,oureconomicwellbeing,ourreligiousliberties,andtheveryfabricof
Americanfamilylifeareallatgraveriskofbecomingcasualtiesoftheextremeideologicalagenda
andsimpleincompetenceofthecurrentAdministration.
First,withrespecttoforeignpolicy:WatchingthespreadofISISthroughouttheMiddleEastislike
watchingthegrowthofacancer.YetPresidentObamasayshestillhasnofullyformedstrategywith
whichtodealwithit.
Instead,hisfocushasbeenonIran,towhichendheisencouragingSenateapprovalofaplanthat
wouldgiveIranthecontinuedcapacitytoproducenuclearweaponsincomingyears.
TheironyisthatIranistheepicenterofIslamicterrorism.Hezbollah,Hamas,AlQaeda,Shiite
jihadism,thePopularFrontfortheLiberationofPalestine,andotherviolentMuslimextremist
groupsallfindabaseofsupportinTehran.TheideathattheUnitedStateswouldendorseaweak
agreementwithapowerasdangerousasthisischilling.
CongressmustdemandanonnuclearIranbecauseanuclearIranisanexistentialthreattoIsrael
andotherU.S.alliesintheMiddleEast.Ultimately,anIranwithnuclearweaponsisathreatto
America,aswell:Technologyissuchthatasmallnucleardevice,madeinIrananddistributed
throughitsterrornetwork,couldreachourshoresinsuitcase.
CompoundingthisisthatthereisNOevidencetheIranianregimehasmadeastrategicdecisionto
giveupthepursuitofnuclearweapons.Andtheregime'strackrecordontransparencyisnobetter
thantheObamaAdministrations.PastexperiencemakesclearIrancannotbetrusted.
Additionally,IranisemblematicofmultiplefailuresinMr.Obamasforeignpolicy,fromVladimir
PutinsrecentannouncementthatRussiawillbeginbuildingmorenuclearweaponstoChinas
resurgence.InthewordsofrespectedforeignpolicyexpertLeslieGelb,theObamateamlacksthe
basicinstinctsandjudgmentnecessarytoconductU.S.nationalsecuritypolicyinthenexttwo
years.

Onthedomesticfront,thingsarenobetter.WithrespectthePresidentsmostprizedeconomic
policyachievement,theAffordableCareAct(Obamacare),millionsofAmericanshavefoundit
anythingbutaffordablewiththeirpremiumsrisinganaverageoftenpercent.
Now,Obamacareisheadedforaconstitutionalcollision.TheSupremeCourtisexpectedtorule
againstthisadministrationinKingv.Burwell.Iftheadministrationloses,andthesubsidiesare
ruledunconstitutional,thiswillmakeObamacarefinanciallyunobtainableformillionsofhard
pressedAmericans.AccordingtoastudybytheKaiserFamilyFoundation,premiumsinthe34
statescurrentlyreceivingfederalObamacaresubsidieswouldseepremiumsriseby,minimally,132
percent(Alaska)toashighas650percent(Mississippi).
ThedisruptioncausedbyObamacareslikelycollapsewillonlyaugmentthePresidentsfailureto
addresstheimpendingcollapseofourentitlementsystemofSocialSecurity,Medicare,and
Medicaid.Thenationsfiscalforecast,alreadyominouslyovercast,willbecomeoutrightstormyif
actionisnottaken,thesoonerthebetter,toremedyourinescapableeconomicproblems.
ThentheresthePresidentsapparentlyhighestsocialpolicygoal,nationwidelegalizationof
marriagebetweentwosamegenderedpartners.IftheCourtendorsestheObamaagendaredefining
marriagethesocialandreligiousfalloutwillbeimmense.Thedisintegrationoftheintactbiological
familywillaccelerateandthereligiouslibertiesoftensofmillionsofAmericanswillbeplacedat
risk.AshisSolicitorGeneraladmittedduringAprilssamesexmarriagehearingbeforetheCourt,
thetaxexemptstatusofchurchesandreligiouscollegeswillbeplacedatriskiftheydont
accommodatethemselvestoanewlyinventedconstitutionalrightforsamesexpartnerslegallyto
marry.
Mr.ObamaissteepedinahardLeftideologysorigidthatheseemsimmunetothepoliticalrealities
careeningtowardaverytroublingcollisionthatwillaffectallaspectsofAmericanlife,nowandin
theyearstocome.
