telephone no (021) 807-9111.
No. 09232630 Lt-Col I M Mhlongo : ORS Land Borders, Airport, Cape Town,
Western Cape
Lt-Col Mhlongo was attending an MMLP Course at Paarl Training Academy in
November 2013. He made an appointment with me in regards to a transfer to Pretoria in
which he submitted, but was declined due to equity.
Lt-Col Mhlongo is a diabaetic and suffers with high blood pressure and has to take
chronic medication. Due to not been with the family and unable to be present as a
father figure and husband, his high blood pressure and stress levels have increased.
It was brought to my attention by Lt-Col Mhlongo that his wife and children are living in
Pretoria where they have bought a house. Lt-Col Mhlongos wife is unable to drive a
motor vehicle and has difficulty in taking their child to school and back.
Lt-Col Mhlongos wife also has a daughter who is pregnant and has to look after her.
Once again there is a difficulty when transport is needed to take the daughter to the
hospital.
Lt-Col Mhlongo is presently financing two homes and is therefore taking financial
strain.
Due to all these factors concerned, this does not bring stability or a balanced life, thus is
a worrying factor. For Lt-Col Mhlongo to be totally productive in his work and to have a
successful home, the family needs to be together to support one another.
