Dune is the Enduro bike par excellence. To date its been already 8
seasons since its launch in 2009 as the first model characterized by
the, back then, new exclusive Zero Suspension System.
In 2014 Mondraker introduced a renewed Dune featuring Stealth
aluminum tubes, 275 inch wheels and Forward Geometry that has
established itself as one of the best Enduro bikes in the class. Two
complete development seasons later have paid off and the Dune
Carbon 2016 is finally a reality.

ENDURO REDEFINED
Foxy Carbon released in 2014 and Summum Carbon in 2015
have been the most successful models of the new generation of
Mondraker carbon bikes that undoubtedly have been settled as the
leaders in their respective categories. Everything we learnt out of
creating these projects have been applied to make the new Dune
Carbon: the new benchmark in Enduro racing bikes.

RACE BIKE

The development process has been the most complex and thorough that we
have accomplished so far. The goal of creating the best Enduro bike possible
has not been an easy task and, for the last two years we have tested several
prototypes both main frames and swingarms, trying to achieve the best
handling and best possible performance against the clock. We have even
performed blind tests testing different carbon fiber lay-ups to experience not
only the riding sensations and feelings, but ultimate and objectively compare
timed downhill segments.
A very laborious process of countless hours of testing, which outcome we are
really proud of, having achieved the best Enduro race bike we could create.
But to finish off a great product, make it differently and make it better from
the rest we had to bring added value. Enduro races are won on the downhills
and we know a thing or two about this with our Summum models. The tracks
are becoming more and more technical with increasingly difficult and dizzying
downhills. Top level Enduro races such as EWS demand not only a perfect
physical shape, but also having the most complete bike. For this, to our best
Stealth Carbon frameset with our exclusive Forward Geometry and optimized
Zero suspension system with 160mm of rear wheel travel, weve added the
option of choosing the head tube angle with +1/-1 and chain stay length
in 430mm or 440mm. The result speaks for itself: Dune Carbon is the most
sophisticated and advanced multiadjustable Enduro bike of the moment.

STEALTH CARBON
TECHNOLOGY

Stealth involves the most advanced technology in the industrial

design and optimization of structures which is present in most
of the top of the range Mondraker models. Dune Carbon raises
the concept of Stealth Carbon to its greatest heights, inheriting
all the knowledge applied over the three years developing and
creating the Foxy and Summum Carbon, to create the best and
most efficient Enduro bike possible. The result is clear to see:
A new frame which sets a new design standard from Foxy and
Summum Carbon with a unique and unbeatable look, surprising
and shocking whichever way you look at it.
Characteristic of the Stealth Carbon technology are the curved
and rounded shapes, which are plain to see and make its
impressive appearance even more striking. Dune Carbon stands
out from the rest with exceptional structural rigidity denoting
its careful craftsmanship and the studied positioning of each
and every one of the carbon layers that make it up. The Stealth
manufacturing method is the result of carrying out research on
each of the essential processes that make it up, with the objective
of improving its features as much as possible. From the selection
and preparation of the different types of carbon fiber, preservation
and impregnation with epoxy, to their detailed layout and manual
application in their specific location, everything follows a strict
process set out in the fiber plan written by the engineers. The use
of solid internal molds, both in expanded high density polystyrene
and in biodegradable silicon, allow for the optimal compression
of the fibers with the guarantee of a clean extraction after the
heat treatment.
What stands out above all is our Vacuum Compression Process
method, through which the frame is subjected to a process of
fiber compression through a vacuum at high pressure. All the
frames and parts are put through this process after each layer
of material is applied. This way, we can remove any potential air
bubbles among layers and let us achieve a greater expansion
of the epoxy adhesive between the weaves of the fibers. With
this we can guarantee the reliability of the structure, achieving
figures for strength and rigidity that are greater than those for
fibers only applied manually.

STEALTH CARBON
TECHNOLOGY

The oversized front triangle follows the design of Foxy and

Summum Carbon, with some stylish and aggressive layout where
it has been very important to achieving the optimum frontal
rigidity. The top tube has a very marked sloping that splits in
two when in contact with the head tube, with a larger and more
styled front window with a more racing and aggressive look,
providing unprecedented structural solidity.
In addition to its functional advantages in terms of performance,
this is one of the most attractive features of the Dune Carbon
in terms of its appearance. The bottom bracket area and the
Zero Suspension System now feature new and larger bearings,
oversized axles and a new lower link with a new design, similar
to the ones on the Summum Carbon. The result: The best possible
performance, a superior rigidity and maximum reliability.
The swingarm entirely manufactured from carbon features a double
mast that links the chain stays with the seat stays and integrates
a 3K carbon fiber detachable mudguard that fits perfectly in its
design. The new Zero suspension system upper link manufactured
100% from carbon finishes off an state-of-the-art frameset with a
weight of only 2.450 grams for the size M with no shock.

ZERO

SUSPENSION SYSTEM
TECHNOLOGY

Zero is the virtual pivot suspension system developed and

patented by Mondraker, consisting of two links that compress
and control the movement of the shock at its two ends. The
positioning of the shock and being compressed from both
sides creates a floating movement, giving life to this exclusive
high-performance suspension system.
Dune Carbon features a new optimization of the Zero system,
specially optimized to offer the best performance with 1X
gearings with the most neutral pedaling performance and
the most capable rear suspension.
Thanks to the Stealth Carbon construction and the new
bearings and oversized axles of the Zero system, Dune
Carbon offers better performance and an a supreme
efficiency for a racing Enduro bike to be more agile, more
supple and faster. Virtually the same Summum Carbon
performance for a Enduro model.
The three Dune Carbon R, Dune Carbon RR and Dune Carbon
XR models feature a RockShox Monarch Plus Debonair, FOX
Float X and FOX Float X2 respectively, with exclusive settings
specifically developed for the Zero Suspension System.

FORWARD GEOMETRY
TECHNOLOGY

Dune Carbon benefits from the Forward Geometry that we have spent more than five
seasons developing to the maximum level in the Downhill World Cup. Since 2013 we have
been offering this in all our high-performance Mondraker models, such as the Foxy, Dune
or Summum. The advantages of Forward Geometry lay on better control of your bike,
superior handling, stability and greater confidence, which in a Enduro bike are key facts
when it comes to beating our time against the clock.
Forward Geometry is based on a geometry with longer top tubes combined with a shorter
stem. In the case of Dune Carbon we spec the FG30 30mm length stem for the three
models R, RR and XR and for the 4 sizes: S, M, L and XL. As an option we offer the FG10 and
FG20 stems as well.
Forward Geometry offers greater safety in technical and steep terrain, with a more
advanced front wheel axle that provides greater stability even on really steep chutes. This
increase in the length of the Front Center -and therefore on the bike wheelbase- creates
a more composed and stable bike at high speed in any situation. Forward Geometry
establishes a new weight balance making it possible to load the front wheel much more
than with a traditional geometry. This fact allows you to improve your riding and handling
skills in downhill, offering greater grip on turns and noticeably improving control.
Forward Geometry represents one of the best and most important innovations in
mountain biking today. A geometric concept created by Mondraker which we keep
evolving with Dune Carbon to try to keep offering better performance and trying to stay
a step ahead of the rest.

The new Dune Carbon is available in 4 different sizes: S, M, L and XL. Dune Carbon R and
Dune Carbon RR are based on its 160mm travel fork while Dune Carbon XR (Xtrem Racing)
features a 170mm fork.
In turn, Dune Carbon XR and frameset kit include the adjustable geometry kit to steepen or
slacken the head angle (+1/-1) and chain stays 430mm or 440mm. Adjustable geometry kit
can also be purchased separately.

Dune Carbon features the most popular and effective 275 inch diameter wheels
that Enduro top performance racing represents.
Being the third generation of the 275 Dune some key parameters in its frameset
have been redesigned as the swingarm, to try to make it as compact as possible with
430mm or 440 mm extensible chain stays thanks to the geometry kit, keeping this
wheel diameter and up to 2.5 tires that have proved to be the ideal in competition

or racing, we have designed exclusive high-strength plastic
protectors with rubber inserts that help maintain the frame
as it is new.

All three Dune Carbon models feature ISCG05 tabs with a exclusive carbon fiber manufactured protector to avoid damage the bottom bracket, which in turn also protects the bottom of the frame itself.
