THE

SOLUTION TO THE IMMIGRATION DEBATE

We are not building a wall. A wall will cost billions of dollars and will not
keep the illegals out of the country any more effectively than the situation as it is
today. The illegals migrate over the border through many means, including cars at
the border, underground tunnels, and boats, planes, trucks, and a few of them do
pass through the desert. Although a wall may slow this illegal immigration flood
down, it will not stop the illegals in their tracks, and they will find a way to get here
even if we do build the wall. The problem is, the illegals drive past the border
security five days in a row, get caught the first four days, get deported the first four
days, and on the fifth day, get through to the gates of America where they, as the
Republicans would argue, take our jobs, ruin our schools and use up all our
Healthcare. There is a clear and consistent solution to the immigration problem and
I will tell you how we are going to fix it right now. But it is not a wall.

First, we are going to keep the Obama Executive Order in effect. This means
that all the illegal immigrants in this country now can file for green card status or
emergency citizenship status right now. They will not be deported if they have jobs.
We will give all the immigrants currently in the country a six-month grace period to
file with the government the necessary paperwork for full citizenship status. Once
the paperwork has been filed, and a background check has been performed, they
will continue to work and live in the country until their citizenship has been
approved or denied. If a family is approved, the mother and father and the children
will be made citizens of the Untied States as if they were born here. They will pay
their taxes and vote and have all the rights of real American citizens. If they are
denied, they must leave and go back to their motherland. This is the crux of
Obamas action.

The next thing we are going to do is make it a federal felony for all non-
American citizens to be physically present in the United States of America. That
means if you are illegally located in the Untied States you are guilty of a felony.
Having a green card or being a vacationer will exempt you. However, the
government will prosecute all violators in federal court with no exceptions. In
addition, the court will commute each of the violators sentences to that violators
respective home country. A Mexican citizen who is here illegally will be picked up
by the police, prosecuted in federal court, found guilty of a felony and will be
deported back to Mexico. We will form an agreement with each of the Central and
South American countries, as well as some of the Caribbean countries that will allow
us to commute the sentences back to the violators home countries. Mexico, for
example, will then punish a Mexican violator for coming to America without the
proper paperwork and permission with a sentence in Mexican prison or a Mexican
probation sentence. If we cannot locate the violators home country we will send
them to Mexico or a country that will take them in accordance with our agreement
with each country. In order to facilitate these agreements with the countries, we
can offer to help them with their infrastructures or development of their economies.

If a violator who has been convicted of a felony for being present in the United
States without permission is found a second time, we will throw him in prison. The
children under the age of 18 will always be deported, guilty of a felony.

To expedite the legalization of these immigrants, we will open the borders in
the following way. We will make it very easy for the immigrants to legally naturalize
and become citizens of the Untied States. The main problems that we have with
these immigrants are that they do not speak English, they cannot find work, and the
children are holding back the other students in the classes they attend because
these children do not speak grade level English. The plan to bring them in is as
follows:

We will set up immigration portholes along the border and in the major cities
in Mexico and the Central and South American and Caribbean nations to facilitate
the legal immigration of the people of those countries. The portholes will be funded
and run by the United States government, and there will be a fee charged to the
immigrants which they will pay back in addition to their taxes when they are on the
books. The portholes will organize the paperwork, conduct background checks,
teach English to the immigrants and their children, coordinate job locating services
and family member living arrangements and will ensure the proper disbursement of
the immigrants across the country so that the flood of immigrants does not happen
to bog down one area such as Southern California. If an immigrant has a specialized
occupation, is sponsored by an American family member, or already speaks English
the process for naturalizing that immigrant will be much faster than if not. The
portholes will take a line of people six to twelve months long, which is a reasonable
term considering immigration services needs to teach English and relocate the
immigrants. The portholes will work with the Federal Government to make these
poor people citizens of the greatest country in the world: America. All we need to do
is open the borders through a reasonable system such as the portal system and
allow the immigrants the chance that our forefathers gave us. They will be deterred
from coming here illegally through the felony system. Lets keep in mind that these
are good, hardworking people who deserve a chance to pay their taxes and work
just like the rest of us.
