ECOCERT India, is taking big stride in the field of organic cosmetics by
certifying a range of cosmetic products for Azafran and Himalaya thus
impacting favorably the organic agri-business sector of cosmetic raw
materials in the subcontinent.

come as solace for eco-conscious consumers especially when the whole world is in search of the best
possible options for everything that is not eco-friendly., says Dr. Selvam Daniel, Managing Director of
ECOCERT India about certified organic cosmetics, and we are certainly proud now to be the leading
and only certifiers of organic cosmetics in south Asia, acting as the means to bring this relief.
In 2010, 10% of the total European and 20% of the total Asian cosmetic market is expected to be only
of certified organic products.
India has an opportunity to play a major role in organic cosmetic sector. The health conscious and
environment friendly global consumer is now becoming more and more demanding and choosy about

commented, recently certified organic cosmetics products by ECOCERT include categories like hair
care, make up, skin care, perfume, bath soaps, etc which require a huge supply of raw materials both
from cultivated as well as forest lands. More response to organic cosmetics thus also directly
translates in to greater business opportunities for the cosmetic ingredient suppliers/growers across the
Indian subcontinent.
Since past one and a half year through cosmetics conventions in major Indian cities, ECOECERT is
creating awareness about ECOCERT cosmetic standards and the associated business opportunities in
international as well as the domestic markets, says Dr. Daniel, We have so far certified a varied
range of cosmetic products of the companies like Azafran and Himalaya Drug Company.
