The Volkswagen Warranty
Three-year Warranty
All Volkswagen passenger cars come with a three-year/60,000 miles warranty, which protects your car against the failure of most mechanical and
electrical components due to manufacturing defects. This comprises a two-year manufacturers warranty with unlimited mileage plus a further
one-year/60,000 miles (whichever is soonest) Retailer Warranty. Should the mileage exceed 60,000 miles within the first two years, the manufacturers
two-year warranty will still be valid. If an additional warranty for subsequent years or higher mileage is desired, it may be purchased from an authorised
Volkswagen retailer or repairer; however, this additional warranty must be purchased before the mileage reaches 60,000. Full details of the three-year
warranty are available from your authorised Volkswagen retailer or repairer.

Body protection warranty

The internal body sections and panels of the Touran are covered against rusting through from the inside for 12 years. Naturally, the vehicle must
be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions. Please consult your authorised Volkswagen retailer or repairer for full warranty details.

Three-year paintwork warranty

This latest warranty, pioneered by Volkswagen, really provides you with the widest possible cover on a new car.
There are no special conditions attached and paintwork manufacturing defects will be rectified without charge. Naturally, during the warranty
period the car must be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions.

Service intervals for petrol and diesel engines

Volkswagen has always been dedicated to protecting the environment. Thats why the Touran comes with a LongLife Service regime. As a result of longer
service intervals the engine oil requirement can be significantly reduced over the vehicles total life, which results in less waste oil to dispose of and reduces
the burden on the environment.
The LongLife Service regime is so called because there are no set service intervals. The interval between services, depending on how you drive

Diesel supplements
The Company car tax was reformed in April 2002 and is now
calculated by applying a percentage to the list price of the car.
The percentage, which has been frozen until 2008, is related
to the CO 2 emissions of the car and range from 15% to 35%.
From January 1, 2006, the Government will introduce
a 3% BIK tax charge on diesel cars registered on or after this
date. EU4 diesels registered before this date are unaffected
by the new rules.
In 2006/7 add 3% if the car runs solely on diesel.
In 2006/7 Add 2% if the car runs solely on diesel.
3 In 2006/7 Add 1% if the car runs solely on diesel.
4 Maximum charge so no diesel supplement.

Note that the given CO 2 emission figure for a car

should be rounded down to the nearest 5 g/km.
For example:
i. For a vehicle that meets EU4 and has an emission rating
of 159 g/km when registered on or before December 31, 2005,
the tax will be 18% for 2005/6, 2006/7 and 2007/8.
ii. For the same vehicle registered on or after January 1, 2006,
the tax will be 21% in 2005/6, 2006/7 and 2007/8.
