Vivekananda Kendra Academy of Indian Culture, Yoga and Management

[VK AICYAM], Bhubaneswar
Here and here alone the human heart expanded till it included not only the human, but birds, beasts, and
plants; from the highest gods to grains of sand, the highest and the lowest, all find a place in the heart of
man, grown great, infinite. And here alone, the human soul studied the universe as one unbroken unity
whose every pulse was his own pulse.
~ Swami Vivekananda
Indias culture and civilization are deeply rooted in her ancient religious and spiritual heritage. Since its
inception, it has been the concern of Vivekananda Kendra to appreciate the uniqueness of the various
communities while simultaneously nurturing the threads of harmony and unity.
Mananeeya Eknathji envisioned an institute that will bring out the underlying unity of our diverse cultural
traditions and foster better inter-community, inter-regional understanding. The Kendra thus launched the
VKIC (Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture), in 1996 at Guwahati for the Northeast. This being the Birth
Centenary of year of Mananeeya Eknathji, it was felt that this work should also expand to the eastern region.
